Hi all, I badly need some kind of hand cream/serum/oil but I can't bear the sticky feeling. Can anyone recommend anything that's more dry?

O'Keefe's

LondonGrimmer · 07/07/2024 17:24

Aveeno

Shybutrude · 07/07/2024 17:31

Dalan d'olive

Augustinus Bader hand cream. Pricey but worth it.

BeefSpa · 07/07/2024 18:52

Thanks, I try these - maybe not the Augusitnus Bader one. I'm sure it's great but £44 is a wee bit too much for me.

I have a big pump bottle of Aveeno next to my bed and put it on every night. Does the trick for me!

Kiehl's ultimate hand salve I think it's called. Also CeraVe moistiring lotion (pump bottle, not the hand cream).

Bearpawk · 07/07/2024 22:42

O keefes is very thick and greasy imo.

Shinyandnew1 · 07/07/2024 22:46

Weleda skin food light is lovely. Smells fab and not sticky.

OldTinHat · 07/07/2024 22:47

Liz Earle.

I bought one from Oliver Bonas recently, fig and something or other, smells divine and is non greasy, I can do paperwork or pick up a pen immediately after which is why I am planning on buying several more tubes - it’s A brilliant hand cream to have on my desk.

Rituals

Dr Hauschka is my favourite and I hate the sticky feeling too. It smells amazing!

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Hand Cream. Lovely but takes slightly longer to sink in.

O’Keeffes is nowhere near as good as it used to be. I find it runny and sticky as the balm melts.

Vaseline hand cream is an oldie but a goody.

Idontjetwashthefucker · 07/07/2024 22:57

L'occitane (sp?) Almomd delicious hands cream, smells divine, isn't sticky ir greasy, soaks in really well and my nails have improved since using it too

Rugby1971 · 07/07/2024 23:03

Clarins the best

Fluffywithteeth · 08/07/2024 08:27

I had the same needs as you op and this is the one I now use - on offer I see so I’m going to stock up!! www.thisworks.com/products/stress-check-kind-hands-250ml

Apileofballyhoo · 09/07/2024 14:09

OP I thought of something else. Using Moo Goo milk wash for washing my hands made a massive difference to the amount of hand cream I need, and staying away from all other hand-wash. Soap is OK. The Kiehl's is the best handcream I've ever used but I barely need any now, any handcream will do essentially. Hence the CeraVe lotion, I only need something very light. I don't use the Moo Goo wash either now, I think I'd damaged the skin barrier on my hands and they are better now. Soap and some light cream and I'm fine, though I've started using spf (cosrx aloe vera bought from stylevana cheaply) as handcream.

Palmers Cocoa butter hand cream is good and sinks in quickly. Atrixo is another good one.

Trolltrotters · 11/07/2024 21:30

The only cream I've found that's not sticky and sinks in quick is vasaline healthy hands & nails in the pink packaging 200ml size

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 11/07/2024 21:33

Neutrogena is the only one I can use

polkadotorganisedchaod · 11/07/2024 21:35

Budget prices- Avon cocoa butter. Soaks in immediately
Naice- L'occitane

ashiningbeaconinspace · 11/07/2024 21:37

I find the best is Garnier Hand Repair in the red tube. It's cheap and works really well. It's absorbed well and doesn't feel greasy after just a few minutes. I apply before going to sleep when my hands get dry and rough and it works like a dream.

Plump82 · 11/07/2024 21:38

Clarins for me. I love it and I'm just admiring how long my nails have grown using it as well.
