Holiday dresses - help!

I’m having a bit of a panic, just dragged all my holiday dresses out of wardrobe, going next week to Mexico.

Anyway, after losing a stone recently nothing bloody fits me anymore. I’m also having a bit of a crisis of confidence having lost the weight I feel good but I’m just about to turn 40 next month and feel like I’m not sure what suits me anymore.

Help - any suggestions? Mostly nice dresses for evening that aren’t too dressy but will still look and feel nice! Any suggestions greatly received.

I’m 5ft 3in and now a size 10, still got a bit of a mum tum so generally don’t like anything super fitted in that area.

I was in a similar situation after losing 2.5 stone late last summer. Before going away this year I went through all my old dresses. I put lots in the tumble dryer dry for an hour and managed to shrink them a bit. I also bought a few belts, new pairs of sandals which I really needed and necklaces etc and was actually able to come up with some nice outfits. I ended up not buying very much in the end. I will buy some more dresses but will probably wait until next spring/summer now.

@GettingStuffed thats nice, I’ll have a look at that website. Thank you.

@tennisfann some of them might be able to be dressed up a bit with a belt to help shape them and I have bought a couple of pairs of new sandals so I’ll try accessorising! Some of them were more shaped with buttons up and shaped waist etc so wouldn’t be able to do anything with them. Typically they were my favourites too. I’ve put them ones on vinted to hopefully get something back for them.

A friend mentioned to me that they seen some nice bits in Tesco this week so I’m going to nip there tomorrow and see if I find anything I like there.

Is it a British wedding in Mexico or a Mexican wedding? I think the latter gets super dressed up!!

id probably try to focus on it being breathable so cotton or silk if you can.

Next is great for a holiday wardrobe. They have petites as well. Dresses not too expensive.

I'd get 3 dresses, a pair of loose flowing trousers, 2 tops to wear with, 2 long shirt style cover ups to wear over swim suit (seem to be fashionable to wear shirt style cover ups). May as well buy swim wear in the holiday outfit colours.

Hopefully you already have a light cardigan or light shacket kind of thing.

I bought 3 next dresses and swimwear about 2-3 holidays ago. They weren't expensive and have lasted.

You probably already have cover ups that fit.
