Trinny cosmetics- any good?

Just prompted by a review on her blusher in one of the broadsheets today.

Her products aren't cheap. Blusher is £22 plus postage (although I can get to a store sometime.)

It is emperor's new clothes? I'm always a bit sceptical of 'slebs' who jump on the make up bandwagon.

The reviews put me off.

The reviews put me off.

Meaning?

That there are bad reviews out there or the fact a review is in a broadsheet?

I really like Trinny make up products, I have some eyeshadows and some lip-cheek products, and BB cream with SPF. I like them enough that I've repurchased and bought other colours. I'm in my 60's with good skin, by which I mean no obvious blemishes, and the general effect on me is extra glow rather than covering up.

fiskal · 06/07/2024 16:56

It's good. Excellent customer service. I would recommend.

Bignanna · 06/07/2024 19:04

They’re ok but no better than what you can buy in Boots , and they are overpriced. I found maybelline better.

Margo2023 · 06/07/2024 19:08

I've only tried Miracle Blur. To be honest, once applied properly (I used it for a couple of eye creases) you could noticeably see a difference. But it was a bit of a faff and mine aren't deep but I was surprised it did what it said. I'm not one for expensive make up products but I have heard good things with Trinny

Grazyna80 · 06/07/2024 19:15

I really like the makeup,I have various eyeshadows, bb cream , I think it is called bff, and the other one in a white tube, also very good. I bought some skincare, but not too convinced. Overall all I would say they are good, but not fantastic.

mizu · 06/07/2024 19:23

I love the bff eye serum concealer and think it's the best one I have ever used.

I also have one of her flush blush blushers - electra I think which tbh I've used quite a lot but it's not really as creamy as I'd like and I'm on the lookout for another blusher.

WildFlowerBees · 06/07/2024 21:16

Her bff and spf are excellent but the rest of it isn't great or worth the money. Much better products for a lot less money available.

I fell for the hype when it all started and have many of her makeup products. No longevity and often the match 2 me doesn't translate on my skin.

ThePoshUns · 06/07/2024 21:34

I use the bff crem every day and love it and the just a touch concealer is really good. I don't like the eyeshadows as they disappear and the lipstick is too drying.

Vikina · 06/07/2024 21:44

I really love BFF. It's overpriced but I haven't found another product I like as much. I don't rate the rest of it.

Notellinganyone · 06/07/2024 22:52

I’ve got the Beauty Pie one and it’s much creamier than the Trinny one. I like the eyeshadow though.

You don't have to Google to much to find loads of really bad reviews, there's lots of MN posts too on how they're over priced and poor quality.

Rainydayinlondon · 06/07/2024 23:26

I have the mascara which is the only brand I’ve found which doesn’t irritate my eyes.
I’m tempted by age eye shadows, but wonder if they’re a big if a faff to apply ( particularly when you can get the pencil type ones)

stronglatte · 06/07/2024 23:30

Agree with @Bignanna it's no better than Boots. Dd and I went into got the consultation in London it was really disappointing.. a lot of smoke and mirrors but the end result wasn't something you would want to show off. It's really great PR but honestly Maybelline is just as good - if I want to treat myself I would go Charlotte Tilbury or Chanel

TheUsualChaos · 06/07/2024 23:32

I like the concealer and blushes. Eye shadows aren't great. Do like the stacking system though, handy to take with you.

Username1010 · 07/07/2024 01:19

I bought about five of the stacking products at the start but didn’t rate them and didn’t use behind the first couple of tries.

In the last two years, I tried the skincare products Bounce, Plump Up and whatever the one in the darker pink packaging is. . The only one I liked was the Plump Up. As I never liked any enough to repurchase ie the refills, the skincare was very expensive imo.

ThePoshUns · 07/07/2024 06:24

Yes the skincare is ridiculously expensive, I'd never pay that much

kitchenhelprequired · 07/07/2024 08:54

I absolutely love Trinny products as does older teen DD. I have never really been a big make up wearer, particularly not foundation. Hit 45 and felt I needed something on my face. Had an online consultation during covid and have used Trinny ever since. Things like blusher are so highly pigmented so you need the tiniest amount that it lasts a really really long time. I use the BFF serum, think the instructions say 2 pumps but only use one. Get the coverage I want without feeling like there's anything on my skin.

happyharpy78 · 07/07/2024 09:05

I love the BFF and would love to find a cheaper alternative but been looking for a while now without success!

ThePoshUns · 07/07/2024 09:49

If you find one let me know!
