Started Tret

So, I've started my first daily doser from Skin & Me and I've heard it said to apply it at night as tret degrades in daylight.

Although, obvs, this is true. To what extent does it degrade.

I usually take makeup off about 6 so, been doing that, applying the Tret then sitting on the sofa (in the window) for 30 mins before applying moisturiser.

It's not sunny (it never is!!!) so am I doing the wrong thing?

Should I stick my head in a box for 30 mins? wait until nightfall? Get a mask?
What????

I'd say you should be ok as it's evening time and it's only for a short time. I have read before the UV light degrades tretinoin, but as far as I'm aware most of the studies were after several hours exposure.

I'm sure it will be fine. Don't forget to use sunscreen during the day.

Not sure where you got the degrades in sunlight from? The reason you apply it at night is because it can make your skin very sensitive to sunlight. So you will also need to wear an SPF whilst you are using it.

Think you’re ok in U.K. - just don’t sit in the sun and apply spf the next day.

There are several studies that have shown that it can be unstable and degrade when exposed to sunlight - usually after a few hours as I said before. That's why it's recommended to apply at night.

@HornyHornersPinkyWinky yes, that's the study I saw too.

Using water to wash your face,
Sebamed clear face gel,
la roche posay spf
Evening:
la roche posay moisturizer,

Sebamed clear facial gel
