Is it weird to wear a cross necklace if you're not a Christian or even religious?

I saw this gorgeous black cross necklace in River Island a few months back, (which they don't seem to have anymore 🙄). I'd really love one for my birthday but I'm wondering if it'd be weird to wear one when I'm an atheist? 🤔

It was a bit like this one.

Which raises an interesting question regarding the king of Denmark and wearing the Star of David to protect Jews.

Doesn’t it just. Quite different than making a fashion statement though.

I was raised Catholic. I have an aversion to crosses and other such symbols.

I was too. Stopped going to church when I was 11. But all forms of religious symbols fascinate me. One of my tattoos is an angel, another is a she-devil.

@Newsenmum "Honestly I would think of it as a symbol/shape like any other - not as a form of execution! a bit like a rhombus or sphere. But then I’m not a Christian!"

I don't think that's anything to do with not being a Christian. It's more to do with lacking general knowledge to be honest!

But a cross isn’t always a method of execution. It’s like saying a sphere must mean the earth or a pyramid shape the pyramids of Egypt (tombs).
