Tall women, where are you buying your trousers?

I'm looking for two pairs of smart trousers to wear for work, 35 inch inside leg, one in a summer material and one in a heavier fabric for the colder months. I tend to wear skirts because I can always get something in the right length, but trousers would be a lot more practical for my job. It's a real hassle finding anything that's long enough and formal enough! Years ago I used to buy from Long Tall Sally, but their quality took a massive nosedive. Any recommendations?

Forget LTS - awful quality now!

M&S are surprisingly good, but you have to try on the different styles and fabrics as they have so many online and they are not all equal in terms of quality.

Boden has been decent for me for heavier, autumn/winter work trousers.

M and S are so long these days I have to buy a regular length for the first time in my life.

ketzeleh · 05/07/2024 12:15

Thanks! I've just ordered a longer length Boden pair to try, and I'll have a look at M&S next time I'm in town. It's good to know there are more options now after the last ten years of everywhere selling ankle grazers that felt like shorts.

I got a lovely long pair of Boden linen trousers earlier this year.

Would NOT recommend Mint Velvet, whose inside leg measurements are not accurate.

MakemineaGandT · 05/07/2024 13:37

Reiss do most trousers in two lengths

LionMummyRoar · 05/07/2024 13:47

M&s - I got a lovely pair of long cords last autumn and linen trousers for the summer!

Cupcakegirl13 · 05/07/2024 14:02

M&S or Next

Wumblewimble · 05/07/2024 14:09

I'm 5'7" and generally a 12 regular length in Mand S. I used to be a tall but they have changed their sizing in the last couple of years.
you still have to try them on as there is variation between styles.

Andywarholswig · 05/07/2024 14:10

Next Tall is my go to for most things, the quality is good and although it’s annoying you can’t return via courier you can in store for free

I have a pair of long trousers from mint velvet and I think they’d fit if I was about 6’8.

Enjoying Boden for longer lengths at the moment.

stardust777 · 05/07/2024 15:16

I'm 5"3 - these swamped me (to my disappointment!), I think they'd look lovely on someone tall:

ASOS tall range is really good

loropianalover · 05/07/2024 15:19

I’m 5’8 and have a mix between tall and regular length from M&S. I agree with PP to go in person if possible to try on different styles as the fabric and fit vary so much with their trousers which really annoys me.

Edited

I ordered two pairs that were, respectively, 1" and 1/2" shorter than advertised. Not much but enough.

Businessflake · 05/07/2024 15:58

Sezane do very long trousers in my experience.

GettingStuffed · 05/07/2024 21:13

Funnily enough Primark make some really long trousers, or Halara long. I'm a 33 and a bit inches one pair is slightly long on me the other is a good inch and a half so I'll wear it with heels

ScribblingPixie · 05/07/2024 21:34

Zara trousers described as 'full-length' can be good.

Passthecake30 · 07/07/2024 20:22

I’ve only managed to find next suitable for my 35” legs

PortiasBiscuit · 07/07/2024 20:31

River Island..

PumpkinSpicedTea · 07/07/2024 21:28

My go to is Next or Dorothy Perkins do nice tall trousers.

gardenmusic · 08/07/2024 08:19

I am a 33 inch inside leg, recently ordered Baujken, and could have cut 6 inches off!
If you want to spend a lot The Fold are longer length.
I scout through Next tall, the quality can be a problem, but I have had a couple of pairs.
Landsend jeans are long enough for me, though not highly fashionable.
Scaninavian Dutch and German brands are usually longer.

Trixiefirecracker · 08/07/2024 08:26

Asos are super long. Quality has been fine.

HarrietPierce · 08/07/2024 11:31

I'm 36 inch inside leg and Long Tall Sally used to be my go to but as another poster said the quality is not as before. Next tall are pretty good.
