Eyebrow tweezers!

The horror! Pretty much next on my list after passport, meds and contact lenses.

They were in the bag but I must have taken them out last minute and put back in the drawer, absent mindedly. Noooooo

Also I only realised last night, too late to go out again to buy any, and all the shops seem to be shut today.

I mean there's nothing anyone can do to help but I just wanted some sympathy 😂the worst is I have at least three pairs so no excuse at all.

What's the worst thing you've left behind?

DH has twice managed to forget trousers!

whereas Sir Walter would bring cases upon cases of his finest garments!

@Geiyotue I'm 60 so older than you.

Tho tbh (Also @Bigearringsbigsmile ) my eyebrows are black and if I didn't attend to them regularly (a lot more often than once a fortnight) they would meet in the middle and be growing over my eyelids.

That's always been so...now we also have, yes, other random hairs to deal with too.

If that's not you then be thankful😁

@Riverswims
migraine tablets plus specific decent pain relief is top of my list
I’d rather go without clean pants or food than be laid low with a migraine.

Yes, you could turn pants inside out, back to front…

Tigresswoods · 30/06/2024 22:26

Holiday in the 90s. No one, including my dad thought to pack his pants.

The holiday song was,

"One pair of pants, I've only got one pair of pants...."

Or hand wash them in the basin and dry overnight. I only took 4 pairs of knickers when I went travelling- 1 to wear, 1 to wash, 1 to dry and 1 for emergencies.

Currently on holiday. Consciously removed a bottle of suncream from the case because “it’s Europe, we can buy another if we need to”. We need to. 24 bloody euros for the bottle of Nivea that was about a fiver at home.

My birth control pills. Initially thought not a problem as it was a work trip and DH wasn't with me, but the pills also stop my period and therefore I also hadn't brought any sanitary products.

I once forgot my bc pills many years ago . The embarrassment of phoning MIL (had spare door key) and asking her to post them to me (assume the post was more reliable in those days !)

Several holidays I've only bought one spare pair of pants for some reason . Spanish underwear comes up very small!

I'm in Portugal with no hairbrush or comb, easily replaced, but I have loads at home 😪

Abracadabra12345 · 01/07/2024 12:30

I haven't read all this yet yet because I keep laughing! I'm SO glad I'm not the only one. I did forget my razor but luckily could take me and my burgeoning beard to a shop next day

The fear of the coma and desert island and no hair removing device is real!

I once accidentally wore odd boots on the school run - one was blue and one was black. Very similar in style but not identical. I was halfway back before I realised. Mortifying.

I went to work in a navy shoe and a black shoe once. I had a 60-mile commute

Errmmmm.... Door wedge?

Oh I am so happy you don't know why one would pack a door wedge. I wish I didn't!

Because it's not eyebrow hair, it's chin hair. Trust me.

Or cheek hair in my case - and mole hair, they are either not there or 1 cm long, no inbetween stage!

TorroFerney · 01/07/2024 13:00

I have forgotten bras and knickers on separate holidays. Just wore my bikini top am very flat chested).

Also forgot straighteners, i was pleased as it forced me to not be bothered about my hair. I always think i look awful on holiday anyway so this was kind of cathartic!

EBearhug · 01/07/2024 13:02

I went to work in one broen and one black shoe - same style, so didn't notice in the half-light of the bedroom.

Probably no one else would have noticed, had it not been that I realised as we were walking along the corridor to lunch, and had to stop walking as I was laughing so much.

I travel a lot for work, a door wedge “lives” in my case and comes with me on every trip.

Insidelaurashead · 01/07/2024 13:39

Did two nights, three days in Amsterdam with my partner, his brother and his sister. Took our small travel bag with our clothes in. Forgot the second travel bag with all electronics chargers, adaptors, and all our liquids. FFS

Luckily SIL was travelling two hours after us from a different airport, so we text her to pack phone chargers and adaptors for us. Had to rebuy charging banks, minimal liquids and I realised how much I don't really need to pack for the next trip. Silver linings

Beautifulbythebay · 01/07/2024 13:53

Once forgot my purse.. Bank card with all our holiday spends on it.. Dh had his card but days before telephone banking.. Such was mil's distrust of All Things Tech she - well fil - drove an hour to our house every day to use our local ATM then bank it on dh's account...

I’ve told my daughter to remove any stray hairs if I’m in a coma, or indeed, dead!

GogAndMagog · 01/07/2024 14:10

The door wedge idea is bloody brilliant. 🚀

When my DDs go on holiday or travelling I'll be telling them to pack one!

I've been to work in different boots, one was pointed toe, one was rounded. Nobody noticed.

Left kids clothes behind on a camping trip. They didn't care, just wore same clothes all weekend.

Makeup bag once, in my 20s I was really upset,
I'd not be so bothered now.

I don’t really travel for work much but I think I’ll get one, have used chairs etc. although the man that broke into our apartment when I was alone in there as a kid came through the bathroom window!

spiderlight · 01/07/2024 14:21

We took DS on a trip involving three days of walking up mountains when he was about 11. Got to the first car park and I got his hiking boots out of the car - one right boot that was fine, and another right boot, identical but two sizes smaller, from his old pair from the previous year. Luckily he'd travelled in fairly sturdy trainers 😳

Dozycuntlaters · 01/07/2024 14:25

My whole suitcase!! Got home and it was standing proudly there waiting. Unpacking it was just an insult.
