Eyebrow tweezers!

The horror! Pretty much next on my list after passport, meds and contact lenses.

They were in the bag but I must have taken them out last minute and put back in the drawer, absent mindedly. Noooooo

Also I only realised last night, too late to go out again to buy any, and all the shops seem to be shut today.

I mean there's nothing anyone can do to help but I just wanted some sympathy 😂the worst is I have at least three pairs so no excuse at all.

What's the worst thing you've left behind?

I left my whole bag on my bed at home once. We were going away in the uk, driving, and I realised Feb we stopped at services 100 mikes away.

I actually ordered some clothes from Next, but because of the remoteness of where we were staying, they didn't arrive until the day before we went home. I kept the pants and a T shirt, returned the rest.

Kilt socks for my 3 year old at a wedding. He was delighted at his full kilt outfit with Bob the Builder socks.

While traveling without dh and with a six year old and a six month old from England to Canada for Xmas, I forgot our coats. We layered up and froze until my MIL went to a charity shop for us.

many times I have forgotten tweezers, mooncup and swimsuits.

mitogoshi · 30/06/2024 10:26

I've forgotten so many things over the years, whilst remembering everyone else's stuff! Eyebrow tweezers don't feature on my must take list though (I do have tweezers and have taken them on longer trips for erroneous hair removal

Turned up for a summer Scottish island trip.. Ds14 proudly unpacked a high viz..
Absolutely no idea why or where it came from.

Errmmmm.... Door wedge?

After a holiday in Turkey when a staff member just walked into our room unannounced "to check something" 3 times in a week. Complained to manager to be met with shrugs. Made me wary.

Yep pants. Packed everyone’s stuff for the weekend and forgot my own.

I've done that too. The next year I was paranoid and took extras - got to the destination and found I hadn't packed bras or socks.

Beautifulbythebay · 30/06/2024 11:18

Trusted dc to pack for themselves one year camping /walking trip. Arrived and dd had only the flip flops on her feet. I forgot the whole bag of wellies 2 years running.. Not many shops open in Scotland on a Sunday.. Spent hours trying to source some. Twice...
Once left the buggy outside the tent overnight.. It poured.
Had to go buy a new one..

GellerYeller · 30/06/2024 11:43

Crying at the child with hi vis 😂😂😂
DH lost his packing privileges after we had been in the car 4 hours and he announced he ‘thought you had put my case in the boot’. Ended up at a 24 hour Tesco cobbling together an emergency outfit and undies.

Beautifulbythebay · 30/06/2024 12:16

The same dc is very diligent at times.. Took a lint roller camping....

Branconche · 30/06/2024 12:27

FYI I really recommend an epilator with an adaptor for facial hair... use it on my chin and moustache every week! Can also be used on beard if you have a particularly high pain threshold but I can't bare it.

SiobhanSharpe · 30/06/2024 12:38

Forgot my prescription meds on a four day trip abroad.
Then on our next trip DH (who loads up the car and is very particular about it) left my grab bag with toiletries, underwear and other essentials behind. It was all ready to go and just waiting on the bed. But it was my fault apparently.

SiobhanSharpe · 30/06/2024 12:40

I generally take tweezers plus my trusty Swiss Army knife ('executive' version so not bulky). It has good mini tweezers in it so i have a back up pair.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 30/06/2024 12:51

Whilst training for a big running event, went away, took my running kit to continue training. Took 2 left trainers. I tend to buy the same model of trainers on repeat, which comes in limited colours in my size. I have lots of very similar blue trainers!!

Electric toothbrush 🪥
But I'm at my mums and she has a stash of manual ones in the bathroom cabinet so I'm all good 👍

mondaytosunday · 30/06/2024 13:03

Forgot my jammies on a school trip! Went to bed in a t shirt and pants.

Peridot1 · 30/06/2024 13:17

Forgot any underwear for me once. We were driving around rural Bulgaria. No idea where any of the Bulgarian females I saw bought underwear as I didn’t find any. Bought washing powder and washed my bra and pants every night. Thankfully it was summer and really hot so they were dry by morning.

I can go one better… I put odd ankle boots on to go out… didn’t realise until I was too far from home to go back and change! Thankfully they were at least the same colour 😂

I honestly thought I was the only person to do this 😂

mine were long pointed toe suede and square toe leather 🙄

clary · 30/06/2024 09:11

Those who don't understand the need for tweezers on a (four day) trip are obviously not (ahem) older!

This is why diminishing eyesight is a blessing.

Just don't forget your spec.
Ahem.

GellerYeller · 30/06/2024 13:37

I have also dressed in the dark, drove an hour to a meeting and found I had odd shoes on. With differing heel heights😱😂

JMAngel1 · 30/06/2024 14:02

Why would eyebrow hair grow so quickly?

BlunderMifflin · 30/06/2024 14:28

JMAngel1 · 30/06/2024 14:02

Why would eyebrow hair grow so quickly?

Because it's not eyebrow hair, it's chin hair. Trust me.

ErrolTheDragon · 30/06/2024 14:30

I'm definitely older but my hair seems to have stopped growing. I tweeze my eyebrows about once every 6-8 weeks! Helps being very blonde.

I'm fair but my eyebrows are still quite dark - but they've pretty much given up needing to be tweezed now. For a while I'd get one ambitious white one but it seems to have given up regrowing.

I do keep tweezers in my travel wash kit but more in case of splinters.
And - as I'm in the middle of packing you've Judy reminded me I must transfer a tick card to my new rucksack.

Bignanna · 30/06/2024 15:06

I was in the car on the way to my daughter’s wedding, when I happened to look down, and was horrified to see I still had my old shoes on! Luckily the church wasn’t too far away, and my son dashed home to get them! There he was, on the video, walking up the aisle carrying my new shoes, for all to see!

FinallyHere · 30/06/2024 15:14

One of the best people I ever worked for famously wore odd shoes (one brown, one black) to the interview. He still got made director and was brilliant
