Too much for a register office wedding?

Seen this on eBay and love it, but it's a small register office affair in a busy city centre. Too much? Bride and groom are 60s but quite young. She's wearing a white jumpsuit, he's wearing expensive new suit with buttonhole. I have 3 weeks to find something!

It's gorgeous - perfect.

I'm sure there is a reception or party of some sort, you're dressing for that as much as the wedding ceremony. I think it's lovely.

Not too much. Go for it!

It looks quite floaty but other pics show it was a windy day! I'm loving the long sleeves and I have awful legs so got to be long! Not sure on etiquette of wearing a long dress at a wedding not been to one in such a long time

Ooo, lovely! I have a similar dress I've worn to the races. It's perfect.

Looks fine to me. We got married in jeans, but from the other ceremonies we saw on the same day (big London register office), people were wearing anythng from full 'white dress, veil and morning suit' looks to national dress to hippy/boho stuff to workwear (there was a couple where I think they were both medics at a nearby hospital on their break, or at least the woman was changing out of scrubs in the loo).

I think the seller's other photos showing it to be a fancy affair is putting me off !

It's not a long dress in formal long dress sense. It's a long as in maxi day dress. No reason not to wear it.

I think this is the dress. The model is making a great show of the split but in real life I doubt the wrap over shows as much as that.
