This might seem a bit of an odd one but here goes... I am in my late 20s and have never really worn make up except mascara and lip gloss/lip stick. I have fair skin, not especially sensitive but burns easily in the sun and is prone to dryness. I would like to start wearing make up to feel more confident - especially as I have some events coming up this summer. So... where do I start? What do I need? Any product recommendations that aren't too expensive but are good quality?

Only you can tell if your skin 'needs' foundation or you can get away with a tinted moisturiser. Always wear a sun block. Every day. Basically it is up to you how much stuff you use. If you are happy without eyeshadow/liner then don't bother. Maybelline do some good mascaras. I really like the new one. It is up to you whether you go for a lipstick or tinted balm. There are some good chunky pencils that can be balm like or more like a lipstick Good makes are Elf/Boots no7/Revolution/Maybelline/L'oreal/Rimmel.

If you decide to go for blusher.. a cream one is normally more natural and goes under powder if you want it to last and a powder one goes over face powder,

If you do want to try eye shadows revolution or MUA do some cheap palettes. Boots natural collection do some nice single shadows as does Boots no 7. Some companies do lovely thick crayons for the eyes too.

Have a look on you tube for make up application- Lisa Eldridge does good ones
