Comfortable footwear……..

I’m looking for comfortable footwear sandals, /shoes that are pretty & suitable for holidays, going out, office, hols but anything comfortable seems to be a compromise on how they look. Can anyone recommend where to shop? Thank you!

If you don't have any specific podiatry problems, i.e. that mean you can't wear flat shoes, then these are really good - comfy and lots of pretty styles

Surely they are just sandals to wear when not walking anywhere much

BIWI · 27/06/2024 23:03

Not sure what you mean @Summertimer? The OP was asking for comfortable, pretty sandals ...

ByRoseLeader · 27/06/2024 23:22

Sorry, I probably didn’t explain it well enough. I do have podiatry needs but what I specifically mean is comfortable soles/well cushioned either flats or a small heel but everything I seem to find I aren’t very attractive & more suited at older women. There doesn’t seem to be anything fashionable that I can find.

Hot chocolate flats are my favourite but it depends on your own style I suppose.

I adore my solillas. I have flat ones and the wedges.

eurovisionfan · 28/06/2024 06:49

Having same problem! I want to walk miles but the sandals to look nice with nice summer dresses. Lots of the comfy ones are very chunky.

@ByRoseLeader
I quite like these

Oh M Sandals !
They do a lovely dupe of the H Hermes Oran sandal in a variety of colours.
They have a slight heel.
I'm loving my Skechers wedges.

pansypetuniaheliotrope · 28/06/2024 09:20

I wear only FitFlop now. They have all kinds of styles, and are so supportive and comfortable for my arthritic feet. Nothing else comes close for me.

GettingStuffed · 28/06/2024 09:54

Have you looked at Moshulu. You'll need to check reviews for width as some styles are wider than others.

Pikolinos have a sale on at the moment. I recently discovered them and bought two pairs already from the outlet section of their site, v happy with them. Comfort is key for me.

Normallynumb · 28/06/2024 16:04

Ecco sandals are well cushioned

Chocolately · 28/06/2024 16:12

I love those Menorca sandals looks wise, but unfortunately dont find them comfortable. I have high arches and need some cushioning and support.
The last pair of sandals I bought were from pavers. I am an older lady, though. 😏

BIWI · 28/06/2024 16:52

Fitflops might be better for you @Chocolately

Purplecatshopaholic · 28/06/2024 16:55

I love my Fit Flops, really helped my plantar fasciitis. Range of styles and colours.

I bought what are probably last year’s stock from a local shop from this brand (as they aren’t on the website and were a little cheaper too), but they are excellent. Comfortable and fine for walking relatively long distances in. Not for tramping miles in the countryside, but all day on a city break, for example.

Ignore last post link not working. These would be ok.

I know exactly what you mean OP. I walk a lot and when it’s warm like to have my feet out. (The actual trendy thing these days is trainers all year round, there are fewer people wearing sandals in summer in general imo),

Its trial and error and a difficult balance because the more ‘podiatry’ ones are usually much more comfortable with adjustable straps etc. Plasters under sandals is not a good look. I like gold sandals as I think they elevate outfits better and go with everything, I have these two:

JamSlags · 29/06/2024 09:36

I can walk miles in Hush Puppies Georgia (heels) and Gabby (a bit lower) but they are definitely for pavements not gravelly stony holiday paths.

Lots of ‘fisherman’ style sandals around at the moment which are usually a little bit platform/flatform, often slightly padded, with wide straps.
