I need a funeral outfit

I live in jeans/shorts, casual clothes.
Sadly I have a funeral to attend of my much loved step-mum and I need something reasonably smart to wear.
I have no idea what!
I prefer trousers, and as it's next month, it may be warm. I'm 5 ft 7, size 10 , mid 50s,
Help!

Sorry for your loss.

Don't worry too much, I find people wear all sorts of things to funerals these days. some black trousers, m and s do a really good selection of trousers... different styles and lengths.

Then I'd go for a lightweight short sleeved fitted blouse/shirt/top.... doesn't have to be black necessarily if rest of outfit is. But a neutral plain colour is best.

A black blazer/jacket on top that you can take on and off obviously depending on weather.

Condolences.

Cos should have what you want. You mentioned trousers so obviously look for those - but this dress is reduced in the sale, very nice and appropriate and would also look good with trousers for other occasions.

Black linen trousers and a plain top would work well. I wouldn't spend too much on it, even if you think you'd rewear it you may not due to the connection. I bought a lovely dress for MiLs's funeral and 18 months on I still haven't plucked up the courage to wear it but I don't feel I can throw it out.
