Going to a 50th party at a fancy ish venue.
Instruction is to look fabulous- which I'm not fully comprehending as a dress code.
The majority of the guests will be Persian so slightly on the dressier side. There will be dancing!
I'm 5 ft 7 and a size 8 but not washboard thin so don't want something lycra.

I tend to be more dressy as a person but really can't choose something suitable. I feel a bit conscious in the group so don't want to be too out there.

Should add something , within reason abs sleeveless please.

I'm sure you'll be fantastic.

Please help me-
Huge plus points for an actual so as mail order is not my friend really.

Budget?
General preferences? e.g dress? Are jumpsuits an option?
Are you looking for something which "looks fabulous" because it "flatters your figure" or where the item of clothing is the eye catcher which "looks fabulous".

If I were looking for "looks fabulous" I'd be looking at something like the clothes here.

I saw this fabulous thing yesterday - someone else must wear it as my life is decidedly drab right now.

Stine Goya frock

And there’s a store on Beak St, London!

Edited

That's my idea of fabulous. Liberty and Harvey Nick's also stock Stine Goya in store.

Oh dress for sure trousers aren't my thing.

I'm assuming it's a bit glitzy but don't know how evening full on cocktail it means .

Not super long for dancing. As it will get trodden on.

budget £300. Will that buy something?

Realisation Par is right on budget:

£300. Silk. Midi.

Some pieces a little quieter. All silk so perfection for being seen in - moves well, catches the light …

What does abs sleeveless mean? Also any clues on style?

I like R&M for this sort of thing (Not sure if they have an in person shop). Good quality stuff and just about within your price range.

Also important to know when your event is, may lessen your options a fair bit.

Kind Regards

LipstickedPowderedAndPainted · 27/06/2024 15:07

Sorry @FairHiker . AND sleeveless. I get to sweaty!!
I don't know about style hence urgent mr of assistance.
Do i go long or short, definitely more structured than cling film slinky but genuinely no idea

@LipstickedPowderedAndPainted It’s always nice if an OP can respond to the suggestions offered …For good or ill!

LipstickedPowderedAndPainted · 27/06/2024 15:32

Ah sorry just grabbed phone quickly. Having a problem opening links due to location🙄

Just going to say i realise probably not patterns as they tend to really overwhelm me. Is black too boring?

Solace London

has lots of sculptural black dressing up frocks. Some not too far beyond your budget. All sleek, if a little conservative.

The Stine dress is beautiful but I think will get trodden on with everyone drunkenly dancing the night away.

Not overly keen on the bias cut out the realisation one ( was looking at the paint colours but looks like their cut is similar).

R& m one( not sure if what I can see is the link working properly but it's for someone much much more mature than me, and to covered up in general for the weather and dancing)

Wow! I'm in love with the solace, stuff. I think it's out of budget though. It's amazing!

A few are around £370 … It is a very particular look.

Could you rent a dress? Stretches the budget much further towards fabulousness.

LipstickedPowderedAndPainted · 27/06/2024 16:23

I considered rental, issue is I end up with almost all my clothes being altered to fit. Can you try them in somewhere do you know?

I don't know how ott I'm supposed to be, that's half the trouble😬
