Shoes - help!

I honestly can't remember the last time I bought a pair of SHOES. I have bought trainers (casual and running), and I have bought boots, but shoes are another matter.

In the summer I usually flip between Birkenstocks (hot days) and trainers (cold/wet days), but I have some nice dresses that would lend themselves to a nice summer shoe. I always struggle with shoes rubbing blisters, and I'll be wearing them barefoot, so they will need to be natural materials. I'm thinking a wedge espadrille or similar, but I'm so detached from shoe shopping that I don't even know where to start looking!

I went to Next and M&S yesterday and there was nothing there that fitted the bill. I don't want anything too chunky, as I can just wear my Birks for a chunky sandal. I'd like a (wedge) heel, but not too high, but I don't like the platform look.

Can you point me in the direction of different sites to look at. I'm going to look at Dune now (not cheap, I know, but more likely to be made with natural materials), but where else shall I look?

I'm the same as you, i find platform espadrilles are comfy, would they be ok at work though?

Ballet flats are back apparently too....

I WFH mainly, but when I am in the office I can wear anything. It's shoes to wear with a dress, for days/evenings out that I'm looking for. I don't want platform though, I want a heel with a bit of height to it (to change the way my legs/outfit looks, not to make me taller).
And I don't want ballet flats for the same reason.

It's more that I don't know where to look.
