Help needed - outfit for leaving drinks

Hello

I need an outfit for my bosses leaving drinks on Friday- it will be casual-ish. The criteria are:

  1. I had a baby nine weeks ago - have mostly regained shape but have small mum tum and huge boobs (34E). I just feel I haven’t bought any “normal” clothes in ages
  2. I am a size 12-14
  3. I am really tall 5’11”
  4. I am fair (don’t tan) and have long blonde hair
  5. ideally need to be able to try on or have several options I can order before Friday

please help - I have no clue!

Um, unless your boss has booked somewhere very formal with a formal dress code won't everyone just be wearing whatever they wore to work that day?

If your baby is only 9 weeks old presumably up until about 4 months ago you were wearing non maternity clothes?

This doesn’t really make sense. Most people are wearing maternity clothes long before around 7 months pregnant.

I didn't wear maternity clothes at all. About 5 months in I bought very loose cotton dresses in a size or 2 bigger than I would normally wear.

The OP has been not pregnant for 9 weeks. She could easily have been wearing non maternity clothes until she was 5 months or so that's 4 months of wearing maternity clothes - apart from those last few months, what was she wearing?

Big boobs and tall, I'd suggest a maxi dress, non-booby if possible?

Chillilounger · 26/06/2024 21:06

The op asked for help. It doesn't matter whether she has recently been wearing maternity clothes or not. I remember the feeling of wanting to look good post baby. What about something like this op? Boden do long lengths if you're tall. Lots of styles www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/sylvia-jersey-maxi-tier-dress-artisans-gold-mosaic-bloom/sty-d0926-yel?cat=C1_S2_G4_G296

It's a work leaving do. Attendees will be wearing whatever they were wearing to work that day.

Thank you for your help and suggestions. There will be a couple of people coming from work, but most work from home, especially on Friday and the work dress code isn’t particularly strict.

I didn’t buy summer clothes really last year (we were going through ivf and had already had a couple of failed cycles and didn’t have the money and wasn’t feeling that confident about how I looked.

You can wear the previous summer's clothes. Unless the venue is very formal or has a dress code, it's just Friday night drinks. I wouldn't worry about it.
