Ruined shoes!

I lent a friend some shoes for a function and she’s returned them like this! Without a word! What on earth has she done to the soles? How would they get like this? The do was held in an outdoor marquee I believe.

I’ve worn these shoes maybe three times and they were in perfect condition…

How did they get like that? Probably over gravel I would imagine, they're leather soled, probably not hard leather?

I'd ask her to replace them if I were you. She's out of order.

It looks like you've left the protective sole sticker on and this is what's been shredded...

I might be wrong but it looks like that'll just peel off

That’s the protective layer. If you look just above the word Hobbs you can see where it ends. Just peel it off, the leather sole is underneath it.
