Suncream for rosacea

I’ve recently been diagnosed with rosacea. My skin is incredibly sensitive and everything is making it so angry. The dermatologist has recommended some moisturiser, which I’ve ordered. But now the sun has finally made an appearance, I’m trying to find a suncream that is gentle and kind to my skin. Please could anyone recommend something that’s not too pricey?

I have (or had...it seems to have got better in the last couple of years) rosacea. I use the boots protect and perfect factor 50, I find that suits my skin well.

I use Ultrasun facial SPF50 for sensitive skin - it's pricy, but Waitrose often does a 3 for 2, so I stock up for the summer.

It's usually recommended to use a mineral suncream if you have rosacea because chemical ones can be irritating.

I use Heliocare Mineral Tolerance Fluid, not the cheapest but can usually find it on offer somewhere online. I think LookFantastic has started selling it now too and they usually have a voucher code.

I use EltaMD UV Daily SPF 40 which unfortunately is pricey, but it lasts a long time as you only need a tiny amount. I buy it on Amazon and I use something like CamelCamelCamel to wait for a price drop. It seems anything with zinc in it helps to heal and calm my skin, so I also use Sudocrem at night whenever my rosacea flares up.

It might be an idea to see if any of these brands do sample sizes to see how they suit your skin, since they are generally not cheap... no point getting a multi buy of something that doesn't work for you.

Thank you, that’s a good idea! Everything seems to be so expensive.

The marks and spencer summer beauty bag has a small tube of Ultra Sun if it's not already sold out.
