Foundation colour match issues

I got colour matched at the Lancombe counter for a new foundation, its a lovely texture and coverage and the colour match looks fab indoors. However when I am in natural light I look like a ghost! Whats gone wrong? Do I need indoor and outdoor foundation?

Blusher or bronzer
Foundation gets rid of any colour really so gives you a blank base which can be a bit flat

I did think of getting some bronzer but still baffled why this is only a problem in natural light.

There's a website called Findation where you type in your existing makeup shades and it tells you what shade to buy in other brands. If you already own another foundation that you know suits you, you could try that and see if it comes up with a different Lancome colour?

When you try a new foundation the advice I have read is to check what it looks like in natural light before purchasing. Maybe ask for samples that you can try out at home next time. Could you buy a cheaper foundation and mix the two to get your shade for the time being so as not to waste the expensive one?

I have light but warm colouring. I avoid any of the French counters as they 'assume' I am rose Ivory/rose beige etc. Nope a warm ivory with some yellow in it rather than pink.

I've a medium complexion, I've been told cool/neutral but it can look a bit greeny/yellow. I will keep the foundation because its great if I'm going somewhere indoors, just makes my face look white outside!

Medium coverage, feels fab on the skin.
