What are the comfiest shoes you own?

Going on holiday in a couple of months to Disney. I’ve been warned to expect to walk 5-10 miles a day, but don’t want to wear walking boots. What are the comfiest shoes you own that aren’t ugly? Expecting the weather to be warm/dry with possibility of it raining, and hoping to buy early to wear them in a bit. Show me your shoes!

I can't upload, but Teva hurricane drift got me around Disney in a heatwave last summer. I don't love them looks wise, but they are comfortable.

Frosty1000 · 19/06/2024 19:30

Maybe not the height of fashion but I'd go sketchers for either trainers or sandals.

IncognitoUsername · 19/06/2024 19:30

I love my Sketchers Go Walk.

purplehue · 19/06/2024 21:34

Sketchers that I bought from Costco. I wear them every day and now that they are a bit tatty will have to buy a new pair.

DGPP · 19/06/2024 21:35

New Balance

DamsonDress · 19/06/2024 21:39

Asics trainers. Not the most fashionable looking but not bad. My go-tos. Or a good Nike running trainer.

Need to try lots of different styles to see what's most comfortable to you.

New Balance are OK but they never feel cushiony enough compared to my Nike or Asics.

Eyesopenwideawake · 19/06/2024 21:40

Crocs.

BigDahliaFan · 19/06/2024 21:42

Sketchers go walk. Walked 27000 steps a day on average for 3 weeks in Japan, no problems at all, and lost weight.

Mairzydotes · 19/06/2024 21:42

Rocket dog jazzin

Flynoceros · 19/06/2024 21:42

Was going to say Crocs. But see that you said “not ugly”. Am still suggesting on the basis that they’re so comfy that you won’t care. If you do care - Tevas, Birkenstocks or New Balance.

QueenMummyTheFirst · 19/06/2024 21:45

Another vote for Teva - ones with a decent sole with proper arch support. I've had these ones for about 5 years and they're my second pair. I can walk for miles and miles on any terrain and not feel a jot of discomfort:

Another vote for Sketchers.

Hot Chocolate shoes every time! They are the comfiest shoes ever and come in so many designs. They even do a red with black polka dot which is very Minnie! They're even in the sale at the moment on this website (reputable site, I've used them many times)

Have fun in Disney Flowers

systemicmotivations · 19/06/2024 21:47

*red with white polka dots sorry, got mixed up!

LadyPoison · 19/06/2024 21:47

Birkenstocks.

Wearing memory foam shoes is to blame for my current foot problems.

WitchyBits · 19/06/2024 21:49

I bought Skechers go walks for Disney and honestly expected to wear them just for that trip but now they are in my feet artist 4-5 days a week. I got the black and gold ones and I love them

somethingwickedlivesnextdoor · 19/06/2024 21:49

Skechers arch support flip flops: www.skechers.co.uk/go-walk-arch-fit-sandal---glam-city/140814_BBK.html#

PeonySeasons · 19/06/2024 21:49

Vivobarefoot. I have three pairs in the same style in different colours 😂

mondaytosunday · 19/06/2024 21:50

I just got Fitbit sandals (Lulu)The trainers didn't suit me at all but these are great.
For trainers I like Skechers.

EternalSunshine19 · 19/06/2024 21:51

Sketchers

Lokshen · 19/06/2024 21:53

Teva walking sandals. Can sometimes find them for less money at sports direct. I also have some fuschia goretex Nike trainers that were great for rainy days.

IncognitoUsername · 19/06/2024 21:55

Advice for Disney (assume you are going to Florida?) in Aug/Sept - take at least two pairs of comfortable, worn in shoes. On several occasions we have been caught in a torrential downpour that drenched our shoes to the extent that we couldn’t wear them the following day. Two years ago we did an average of 11 miles a day. We go every other year, but that was the first time we had a step counter. We were amazed at how much walking we did.

Topseyt123 · 19/06/2024 21:57

Skechers for me. I wear Skechers slip-ins. I love them and find them very comfortable.

AntParade · 19/06/2024 21:57

I'd go and have a look in your local Go Outdoors or equivalent - we got walking shoes that look pretty much like trainers but are so much better in terms of support.

Failing that, Josef Siebel trainers (the Freya/emilia/evie etc style - not the ferrgey/caren grandma ones 🙈)

I wear sketchers to work and they are literally like walking on a cloud, so comfy
