How do I fix my weird shaped arse??

Lost a lot of weight (6 stone) and now I have a frog butt, I feel so insecure, will exercise actually help? And which ones.

Any fat I have is at the top of my bum then it just goes in. No shape at all.

Is it possible to change this or is it just genetics.

How do I fix my weird shaped arse??

Squats! I now have a semblance of a butt after a year at the gym.

God I honestly wouldn't mind about it imo it looks fine- assuming you don't wesr those leggings often 😃
Squats weights etc aside aren't there butt lift jeans you can get now, don't know if they're any good.

Well done on the weight loss! I'd get a personal trainer , even if it's just for a few months. I did years ago and it gave me the confidence to go to the gym on my own! I know what exercises to do whereas before I had no idea what I was doing. I also get the womens health magazine, there is usually a bunch of exersises in there( some wirh and some without weights/equipment) i find it handy to try new exercises!

I do free weights and pilates.

It will take time but you will get there!

I can't get a PT unfortunately. Need to do it on my own, at home.

Pilates will do precisely fuck all.

You need bigger glutes which means you need to build muscle.

Weights is the only way.

Pilates can include loads of glute work, and can certainly build muscle. I am frequently complimented on my great arse, which is all due to pilates - bodyweight plus hand weights. And you should see my pilates teacher's body 😍I agree that heavy weights are best but pilates can absolutely do the job. It's not yoga.

Congratulations on your impressive weight loss. I bet that took some tenacity.
Sounds like you're looking for exercises you can do at home without too much equipment. I have a congenital back problem which means I have to prioritise glute exercises and pilates has fixed me, left me feeling better in my 50s than I did in my 20s. You don't need to go to a pilates class to do these not it would help you a lot if you did - as others have said above, re your core etc. Anyway, look these up :

  • Resistance bands for glute building. The fabric bands are more comfortable to use than the rubber ones. Look up "booty bands exercises". I do these while watching TV.
  • Standing glutes exercises. Look these up - loads of examples and videos online. I fit in mini workouts eg doing squats or single leg balances while waiting for the kettle to boil.
  • As you progress, you can do some of the standing glute exercises while holding one of your son's weights. Look up "standing glute exercises using weights" etc.
  • Targeted weights exercises are going to be most effective once you've learned the technique. Would your son help you maybe?

I see lots of bums that shape so I think it's genetic but can probably be improved at the gym
I do think some people think losing weight will give them a magical figure but often it doesn't happen sadly .

Genetics play a big part in what is underneath tbh
