Clinique airbrush concealer

Seems this has been discontinued 😕 I've been a fan forever, using the Neutral fair shade. I've just bought an Elf hydrating concealer which has great reviews but the texture is terrible on my skin and went cakey right away. Can anyone recommend a good substitute? Thanks very much 🙏

Oh no, really? I use their fair one as well and I’m nearly out…argh!

Thursdaygirl · 18/06/2024 22:21

Everything I like gets discontinued ☹️

Beamur · 18/06/2024 22:23

Noo!

Properjob · 18/06/2024 22:31

I like No7 Hydroluminous. Only one that remotely copes with my T Zone and it really does 'drench' your skin. It's not greasy, which I can't bear even at my age.

HalfMumHalfBiccit · 18/06/2024 22:50

I’ve moved to NARS radiant creamy concealer which is a tad thicker but I use sparingly.
I also have the Charlotte tilbury beautiful skin radiant concealer which is similar but does seem to have a few sparkly bits.

there is the magic away under eye concealer by CT but not used that one yet.

Errorandtrial · 19/06/2024 21:33

Thanks very much for these suggestions. It's a minefield though with all the shades and textures! I don't want to spend a fortune on products I'll potentially never make use of! Why do they have to discontinue my favourite?! 😆

There is another Clinique concealer - Even Better All-Over Concealer & Eraser. Anyone know if it's any good? Reviews don't seem too glowing... Thanks!

I use Nars which at times I love and other times I feel I could easily be moved away if I could find something else. Used to use maybelline or Rimmel but shade wise maybelline doesn’t work and rimmel feels thicker now or something!

uhohjojo · 20/06/2024 09:34

Oh no, I've used this forever too. I've never got on with other concealers. Hope we can pin down the most similar product.

NoMoreFalafelForYou · 06/09/2024 11:40

Argh! I had no idea. Just went to buy a replacement - I’m also neutral fair - can’t believe they replaced such a good product. Why???

Clearinguptheclutter · 06/09/2024 11:45

Yeah there is a clique alternative though which I am getting used to, I will find out what it is and post back

That took more than a few minutes!
it’s called even better concealer and has a stick applicator thing and then a spongy blend thing on the other side. I find it does roughly the same thing as the airbrush concealer and the counter I went to knew how colours from the old one matched up

NoMoreFalafelForYou · 06/09/2024 22:43

So annoying that they change the colour names too! Thanks for your response. Don’t suppose you were neutral fair, were you?

If it’s got a stick applicator I may give it a go - I need an applicator with a narrow tip to get into the nooks and crannies around my eyes. Anything with a blunt, wide or crayon type applicator won’t work for me.

Thursdaygirl · 07/09/2024 08:51

Or maybe not, I have just read the reviews!

The Even Better concealer is fine. Whenever Clinique discontinues a product the reviews of the replacement are always terrible. After they discontinued their CC cream for the skin tint the reviews were scathing.
I’ve been using Laura Mercier concealer, I really like it.

Yep it just a little stick though the other side (sponge) is much chunkier. The whole thing is a lot fatter than the airbrush concealer so probably has more inside, certainly mine is lasting well

Clearinguptheclutter · 07/09/2024 13:10

Meant to add although I’m using the new even better concealer I am just using the brush from my old airbrush!

Tudiemac · 01/10/2024 15:13

I discovered recently that Boots Instant Radiance under-eye concealer is the same (or as near as dammit-exact same container too) as Clinique’s old Airbrush concealer. I used Clinique’s ‘Neutral Fair (04)’ for years and when they discontinued that, l tried their replacement Even Better range-but didn’t like it at all. I’m now using the Boots concealer in ‘0.5’ shade. To me, it seems exactly the same as the old Clinique Airbrush Concealer.

Ah interesting. I just googled, unfortunately the reviews are generally very negative

pleased you get on with it tho!

potatohead88 · 08/01/2025 07:37

Just interested if you found a replacement after all. Also a 04 neutral fair user.

littlespeckledfrog · 08/01/2025 10:43

Also gutted this was discontinued. I'm using the bobbi brown liquid concealer in porcelain (was also neutral fair) but the texture is thicker and it has a sponge tip applicator. Much prefer the clicky pen/brush of the old Clinique.

This is actually very good:

No7 Lift & Luminate Serum Concealer - Boots

The applicator has a thin tip, so you can get into the nooks and crannies (assuming you have them!) rather like the Clinique applicator

Thank you, will have a look. Were you 04 neutral fair in Clinique? If so, what shade is it in Boots range?

Thank you. It's hard to get the right shade without spending a fortune, isn't it? Why or why they stopped the Airbrush.

itsnothingoriginal · 08/01/2025 17:19

The Chanel concealer is brilliant for me if you're still looking for another option to try? It's not cakey, blends well and doesn't settle in my lines. It is pricey but I usually get a deal on it somewhere.
