Post Partum comfy clothes

What were your go to comfy clothes for PP? I am 32 weeks now and will have baby at 38 weeks. After my 1st I used to just stay in PJs and sit on the couch but with my 2nd I will probably need to leave the house a bit more (to take the first places!)

I am thinking very comfy jeans or joggers? What to wear on top? I will be breastfeeding so easy accesses is needed but not necessarily bf tops I mainly did vest top/ normal top with my 1st.

I will most likely have a section and don't want anything tight. Pre pregnancy I was a size 12/14 so will prob need to buy in size 16 for comfort.

I don't want to go wild buying things but a few staples that can easily get me through the first couple of months before I even think of getting into my old clothes. Before any babies I was a 10/12 so after a few months I am hoping to start working to get back to that.

You need this site:

Beyond Nine

Everything you’ll want from sofa lounging to walks to weddings. Not the cheapest but better to have a few good things. (No connection to them at all, just wish I’d known about them years ago.)

Feel good clothing | Beyond Nine

We make feel good clothing for life. Comfortable enough for everything, ready for anything.

@MetaDaughter thank you they have a very clever name. Their trousers look like they really wouldn't be flattering unless you're very thin the way the bow out at the hips, will they make me look huge? BUT I am a 'peak' millennial who struggles with letting go of skinny jeans!

I have a newborn and am 34. I’m loving oversized t shirts with linen trousers at the moment for summer - feel like the linen pyjama type drawstring trousers are in all the shops at the moment and perfect for the post partum tummy I have. Haven’t managed to get back into jeans yet!

Hey

I'm 20 weeks pregnant and a size 18-20. I've just bought the Beyond Nine Poppy jumpsuit. I've always wanted to try jumpsuit type things but I didn't think I could pull it off. Well I actually feel nice in this navy one, and it gives me a lovely bump too! I think it will be really comfy PP too.

I also ordered the denim Lola, the same size (2XL) didn't have much space for growth so I exchanged it for a 3XL. Have quickly tried it on and didn't find there much difference so haven't decided if I'm keeping it yet or not!

Have you bought any maternity leggings? I am living in mine! I prefer navy to black but finding that really hard to find in a size 20. I have bought two lots of the black and navy twinpack from Next. George at Asda has also been good for oversized maternity shirts. I think leggings, a vest for breastfeeding and an oversized shirt is my staple!

I had c sections and just wore my maternity jeans for the first wee bit. Put a maternity pad horizontally in your pants across your scar and you'll be fine.

@Fridgetapas I wouldn't be rushing back to your regular jeans. I think I wore my maternity jeans for about 6 months the last time! Linin trousers are a good call I'll look those up

@MrsScotland my fav leggings right now are glowmode from shein. I wore a dress yesterday and I was actually in a lot of pain, I'm 32 weeks, I realised I am used to the support the leggings offer. I was only at Asda over the weekend but didn't look at the clothes. I'm in Ireland and the soft drink selection is terrible in our supermarket's especailly sugar free ones (I have GD) so I did a click and collect in Asda! I bought quite a selection 😂 I really like the george long vest tops.

@CelesteCunningham My maternity jeans are all skinny jeans. I think I need to update my style a small bit. I haven't found a pair I love this time at all. I had an EMCS last time and most likely will have elective this time.

Post c section you absolutely won’t want anything rubbing on your scar - so you need high waisted knickers. I kept up my maternity jeans and actually bought maternity leggings for after - before I just tucked my existing leggings under the bump but these would have rubbed after.

Ahh yes I love the Asda long vests too! Particularly the navy and white stripe. My Asda has a very tiny maternity section so I've just been ordering online. It's rather unbelievable that no one stocks mat wear on the high street anymore, it's all online.

I just got a pair of Natal active leggings too, they are quite firm but I guess will feel quite supportive. Wearing them tonight for the first time to pregnancy yoga!

I lived in leggings for months and bought stretchy tops from Asda. I loved being able to just lift the top over my head (so that it stayed behind my neck) when breastfeeding as I was constantly feeling hot.

No where does, as I said I'm in Ireland. About 1.5hours from a huge shopping centre on the outskirts of Dublin, )those ones with a big centre and then all the massive shops dotted around it). When I was pregnant with DS in 2021/2022 I went for a day to try on some maternity jeans and see what I liked. No where had them. I just had to order online and do returns.

All the girls in the shops just said they don't stock them.
