Nice anniversary picture of Edward and Sophie, celebrating their Silver Wedding today.

I've been less keen on some of Eugenie's recent outfits as well. I think she's lost quite a lot of weight and is maybe trying out some different styles.

Hopefully she'll find her own style again, I do wonder whether it's hard being compared to her sister who is probably looking the best she's ever looked right now.

The Olympic outfits are not flattering for anyone but athletes or models.

I was lucky enough to catch the beach ride a couple of years ago. They change the date each year and won’t give it out in advance for security.

Pleased to see the Middleton's at Ascot. I think they will have had to bear a heavy load this last six months.

I love the photos from Ascot. They do genuinely seem to be a close family.

I love Eugenie’s tassel on her hat.

Some lovely photos in Hello, love Sophie's lacey dress. Nice to see the Middleton's they have had a tough 6 months, too.
I like seeing the younger generation together they seem great friends.

I noticed it in the carriage and did wonder if it might get irritating if it started flapping about!

There was a lovely moment between Prince William and Zara in the paddock after they all arrived. Zara went over to William to say hello, greeted him with a kiss on each cheek then stood chatting, rubbing his back affectionately.

I'm always surprised by how touchy feely Zara is. Anne is an amazing woman and I admire her greatly but she doesn't strike me as a lover of physical contact.
I don't know much about Mark Phillips or how much influence/contact he had with the kids once they separated but I wonder if Zara's physicality come from him?

I think she's just one of these ebullient personalities. Anne was probably affectionate in private. I saw a documentary about her and both Peter and Zara paid a warm tribute to her as a mum and grandma.

I wasn't suggesting Anne was cold as a parent - just not huggy. My parents weren't/aren't huggers but we had a very happy upbringing whereas as DH's family are big on double cheek kisses and embraces but are in many ways less 'close' than my lot.

No, I take your point, @Runningupthecurtains - my parents weren't demonstrative either! I do think it's probably personality with Zara.

Not keen on Carol's dress, the colour does nothing for her. Not liking the style of hat either. She doesn't look herself

She gets a pass from me. We only spent just over a week when my son hovered in hospital desperately ill with bacterial meningitis in February. He's only back to himself in the last month.

How they've coped in the last six months and they're not out of the woods yet only god knows.

Does Mark Phillips still live on their estate. He seems quite huggy...does he have 2 other kids. One is close to Zara. She loves a hug.

Yes, he lives at Gatcombe Park, or at least has a cottage on the estate.

I like Eugenie’s dress, but not her hat with curtain tie-back tassel. No-one ever suits a boater.

Zara looked great. She nearly always does. Her warmth and ebullience is refreshing in a family not known for it.

Carol Middleton got it wrong imo. Her dress didn’t suit her and was quite unflattering on someone so slim.

on Saturday at grouping the colour I initially thought that Kate had a tassel on her hat and thought it was an odd choice. Was very relieved when I saw it was a tassel on the blind. But there is no excuses for eugenie’s. I don’t mind the boater but the tassel is awful.

Sophie looks nice, if a little airbrushed, in those photos but what is Edward wearing? He looks like a medieval peasant! Come back double-breasted blazer, all is forgiven!

Max and our favourite hat are out and aboit today, this time at Emaus college, opening a new school building

That’s what I thought! He looks utterly terrible and awkward in both photos.

The tweed jerkin, the trousers, the shoes…he needs an intervention.
