I'm thinking it's going to get better with George, Charlotte and Louis, being half Middleton and a quarter Spencer. Although one day Louis may wake up and look like old Queen Mary. Who knows.

I don’t really post on these threads though I was there at the start with QueenoftheAndals (?) but I really enjoy following them so thank you

Our local supermarket has cameras and screens at the self service check outs and every time I use them I wonder what my mother is doing in my town (and when she got so fat). I have spent my whole life thinking I look like dad's side of the family and suddenly mum is there in the mirror.

I’d have been a bit worried about falling out of that dress if I was Amalia. I like it though.

😂I've spent the last 20 years not trying to become my mother, so I did see this coming...

I'm becoming my mother too, and I'm just not ready for it.

My husbands grandmother was Germanic. His father was a dead ringer. Then it missed a generation. One of our sons was Germanic, two of his daughters are a Germanic. Another son took after my side but one of his sons is Germanic. That's five generations where it's dominant.

So I have five grandchildren, three of which look like triplets despite being cousins.

It's been interesting on holidays abroad whenever Germans started talking German to my son because of his appearance.

Have to say the royals must be relieved that the Hanover jaw hasn't reappeared though.

Hapsburg jaw? Indeed! There are worse things than looking like Queen Mary, I suppose!
Genetics are funny. I've said it on here before, but I'm white and my husband is black. Our son has black curly hair like his dad, but when he grows a beard, some of it comes out bright copper like his Irish Granda! It always amuses us 😊

My husband dark haired decided to grow a beard, pure ginger. And he's no Irish ancestry.

My middle son germanic ancestry struggles to grow any beard, whereas my eldest is a hairy black badger who used to wax his back regularly as a young man. My youngest had some kind of Van dyke kinda thing going on moustache and chin wise. Honestly my chin hair grows faster 😂

No, probably quite fortunate really!

Apparently some of the Habsburg chins were so deformed they had difficulty eating.

That's true, and one of them actually died when he banged his chin.

It’s really quite sad when you think of all those poor princesses who were married off to their uncles and had to have child after child, most of who were disabled and died young due to the parents being so closely related.

Not particularly recent, have we seen this one? Leti in a red tweed Mango jacket and top, wide legged white trousers and barefoot white trainers. I'm really not sure about the proportions of the trousers. Love the earrings, though. She's definitely gone for the literal dressing on this occasion!

God yes, this happens to me too. I am the double of my mother which is unfortunate as I don't get on with her at all. I am fatter as well. I never looked like her when I was young either.

Been busy this week and so catching up with the chat. I do indeed have a couple of Royal residences, all with large airing cupboards of course. Osborne and carisbrooke are mine and I think Porchester too (it's a do-er upper, obviously). Think I've got a royal yacht as well. If not, I'll be needing one. I might even have dibs on Windsor, and possibly Warwick (tourists, eugh 😂). RoyalRightmove is a go!
