That photo of the side plate is going to annoy me forever because it looks so wrong with the way the cutlery is positioned! I know they were obviously wanting to centre the plate with the new cypher, but they should probably have considered how odd it would look.

Yes, you can have Gatcombe Park, @AllTangledUpInTitlesAndTiaras . I was thinking about Clarence House for the centre of town, then the Castle of Mey for a Scottish retreat.

Not a royal property as such, but after seeing the sales listing if someone wanted to give me Barnwell Manor, the Gloucester’s old home, I wouldn’t say no!

I remember looking at pictures of the Snowdon apartment in KP after Lord Snowdon had the original features ripped out and awful 60s decor put in place 🙄

I'll have Frogmore cottage, because A. It's just been refurbished and B it's not too big and the garden is manageable.

Barnwell Manor looks lovely but someone has bought it.

It's modest compared to Blenheim or even Higrhgrove etc, but rural and tranquil.

I remember putting in a bid for Sandringham several years ago so if it's still available I'd like to claim that please @Maireas. I promise to host regular MN dinners (including Christmas) where the wearing of tiaras for breakfast will be compulsory.

I did laugh at the Royal Dinner service. Imagine inviting 300 important people for dinner and then realising that you only have 288 matching plates.

Far from palatial but can I claim the house William and Kate lived in on Anglesey please? I have no desire for a massive house but that looks a very manageable size.

I think, @RomainesToBeSeen , that your hosting of the Royal Splendour Christmas would be lovely! We'd look fine in our tiaras at Sandringham, and we could give each other joke presents, like the royals do.

Having met Princess Anne several times, all I can say is she is the most impressive person I know, she is amazing.

I think that can be done. We can all spend some of our summer holiday there, having walks in the heather and BBQs by the River Dee. A roaring fire in the evening and some single malt 👍
