Princess Anne probably not looking stylish today. Apparently she was kicked by a horse last night and is in hospital with concussion. She will be there till later this week.

Choux · 24/06/2024 13:41

Princess Anne's trip to Canada that was due to begin at the end of this week has been postponed.

Jakers that's not good. Husband goes walking in the hills every morning with the dogs, wild ponies everywhere, they're okay with the dogs, but humans beware.

Just goes to show you can spend a lifetime with horses and still be caught out. I've had a few very experienced friends with stables who've wound up in hospital.

Maireas · 24/06/2024 15:14

Poor Anne! I hope she's ok.

I imagine reigning over a tiny country like Luxembourg isn't as taxing as being monarch to the UK, Spain etc in terms of workload and overseas travel.

Yes - being the Grand Duke of an area the size of Greater London, but with only 1/10th of the population is a slightly different gig!

Poor Anne, that must have been really scary for her family and friends.

deeahgwitch · 24/06/2024 17:31

Hoping Princess Anne makes a speedy recovery

The first big report into M-T’s behaviour was in 2020 after something like 20 or 30 staff either left or were fired in 5 years.

The last one with the involvement of the PM was around the time of Alexandra’s wedding.

She’s definitely nowhere near as popular as the previous two Grand Duchesses - Henri’s grandmother in particular would be a hard act to match in popularity terms!

The Dutch royals welcome the Qatar royals, while the Mary, Fred and their other kids celebrate Christian’s high school graduation.

Having seen the no of days worked by ten members of the royal family January to April. I realised that seven of them were well into pensionable age. Only Sophie, Edward and William the exception.

With Anne cancelling events now, Charles staff must be pulling their hair out.

The large age gap between Charles and Edward (and Sophie) is going to be a really handy thing for William!

KillingMeDeftIy · 24/06/2024 22:47

The Dutch royals attended a not-quite-royal wedding last week. I like the bride’s dress and Max and Amalia look great. Can’t say the same for Wax who looks like he had a few too many at the pub the night before!

The Dutch Royal Family attended the wedding of Countess Leonie

Princess Amalia wore a blue fringes maxi dress by FARM Rio. Princess Sophie wore a Lola dress by Zimmermann. Countess Leonie wore a diamond tiara

The bride looks lovely! The happy couple have great names.

The only working royals other than William and Kate who are below pensionable age are Edward and Sophie. And they are 60 and 59. In ten years the current working royals will all be pensioners other than William and Kate.

Am sure they all intend to carry on doing what they can to support the king (Charles or William) and the monarchy but no one's health is guaranteed. In 10 years it might only be King William and Kate supported by the Edinburghs. I don't know what the answer is but I don't think a monarchy as slimmed down as that can justify all the palaces etc.

Maireas · 24/06/2024 22:53

I like Max's outfit. She's brought out the Pringle hat! Great colour. Once again, how do these royal women manage on cobbles in spike heels?

By then George will be 20 and Charlotte 19. If the number of engagements is still high I don’t think they’ll be in their mid to late 30s before they become working royals like their parents, I think they’ll be more like Anne and, if working royal is going to be their ‘career’ (for want of a better word) they’ll start much younger.

The slimming was never meant to be this slim. Andrew is also much younger than Charles so when the first talk of slimming was around when William and Harry were young it would have been expected that Andrew (and possibly his wife) plus Harry and his wife (not known at that time) would have been around as well.

The Japanese have arrived www.bbc.com/news/articles/c2vvv2n00g8o
The Empress always looks lovely, pretty colour.

I know if you're the Queen, it is probably expected, but Max doesn't worry about upstaging the bride 🤣

Chewbecca · 25/06/2024 08:49

Amalia's dress is reminiscent of Kate's engagement dress. She looks great in it. I love Max's dress, it's right up my street. Plus the pringle of course.

deeahgwitch · 25/06/2024 09:33

I love the wedding dress the bride wore at the wedding the Dutch Royal Family were at.
It reminds me of Lady Sarah Armstrong Jones' wedding dress.

Max and Amalia looked great.
Wax looks a wee bit wrecked as he might have had a few beers too many the night before as @KillingMeDeftIy suggested. Smile

Eaumyword · 25/06/2024 09:47

Beautiful wedding dress and I love the bridesmaid/flower girl outfits. A little dash of red goes a long way I feel!😉🤭

ArdMhaca · 25/06/2024 12:04

Speaking of cabbages…

Bea at Ascot in Erdem, I love the colour if not the motif.

Jakers, they're tiny compared to William. Lovely photo

I thought that was better on her than the pink dress but the hat seems to not quite go.

smilesy · 25/06/2024 13:22

Camilla in white again. Looking good!
