What are we wearing over things?

I'm in hospital and trying to kill some time vinted shopping. I'm 32 and interested in dressing nice and current but am completely clueless and don't have a naturally stylish bone in my body 😅

I have no idea what to wear over clothes? Are cardigans out? If theyre in, what style? Are people still wearing oversized jackets? What should I be wearing over a dress if its a bit chilly? Should I bin my kimonos? I'll not even whisper the word bolero...

I think that open linen type shirts, denim jackets (but quite cropped and boxy) and lightweight blazers seem to be popular from what pops up on my instagram feed. Also lightweight short length parka type jackets.

A shacket maybe? I always think people look best when they wear what they feel great in and ignore trends... I.e. Don't chuck the kimonos if you love them 😀

I’ve been wondering this; I live my denim jacket for this but I wear it with skirts or dresses rather than jeans

Mainly a denim jacket or cropped shacket if its cool and an over sized linen style shirt if its warmer.
I am on the hunt for a decent looking slightly boxy, oversized cropped cardie though.....sometimes you just need a cardigan!
