Help, I’m addicted to Vinted

It’s bad.

Any fellow sufferers?

I go through phases-I find if I buy one thing I then end up buying more over the next few days, then I'll receive something that isn't in the condition described and it'll put me off for a bit. It is a good way to buy clothes etc cheap but I find I end up with stuff that didn't fit or I don't like which then you can't return like a regular shop. Then I end up selling it for much less than I paid! So pluses and minuses. I need to exercise more restraint. I don't think being able to checkout in one click really helps.

I love vinted, but i tend to buy things I have tried on in store and then shop on vinted for a fraction of the cost.
It's just annoying you can't add lots to your basket from different sellers and check out in one go. My bank account looks ridiculous with all the vinted single transactions

I really like using it but don't think the results have been quite good enough to get me addicted.
Eg once bought 3 identically described pairs of jeans - 2 were perfect, the 3rd should have been the same but seemed at least 2 sizes too small. Gave them to charity as it wasn't worth trying to resell them (yes, I warned the charity shop about the size discrepancy).
I originally sold one quite expensive item and have left the money sitting in my Vinted account, so just dip in to that every now and then which is nice because it feels "free".
Definitely more excited about it when I first discovered it Smile

Meeeee!

It's like the eBay heyday but better

Me too, but this year I have only bought with my Vinted balance. I line up things I like in my favourites and then I have to sell enough stuff to purchase them or they sit there until i eventually change my mind.

This is what I do now and if it gets sold before I have enough in my balance it wasn't meant to be 😂

@PumpkinSpicedTea it’s amazing how often I do change my mind though… it’s saving me a fortune!

PumpkinSpicedTea · 12/06/2024 11:13

@thenewaveragebear1983 im with you on that one. If I stop and not impulse buy and someone buys it sometimes I feel relieved 😂

Yes me! I’ve pretty much only used Vinted for clothes the past couple of years. Every time I go into a shop and look at the prices I just think about how cheap I could get something similar on Vinted! I only ever buy BNWT and brands I know so few if any quality issues. Love the ease of selling too.

GardenersWord · 12/06/2024 11:27

It’s awesome for kids clothes.
Most of the kids stuff I buy has hardly been worn & sellers tend to put in on for very low prices just to get rid of it.

I had a look in my wardrobe yesterday and all my jeans, bar one pair, are from vinted.
I would never buy full price denim now.

I’ve had a few disappointing items - usually to do with sizing. That’s down to the seller not giving accurate descriptions though.

Mostly it’s great & I have a fabulous wardrobe because of it

Me too OP! I've bought and sold absolutely loads. Yesterday I received my Fairfax & Favor boots BNIB - saving £100 on retail.
I tend to look for things that I want specifically rather than just browse. I've found some amazing bargains on there 😁
