Evening all,

I’m returning to work soon after mat leave and having shlepped about in any old boulder holder for the past year or so I’m looking to buy some decent non-wired bras - can’t face a return to my drawer of old wired ones I always used to take off the minute I stepped in the door anyway!
I’m approx 34B (haven’t been measured for years mind) and having BF two babies the old girls don’t owe me a thing but could probably do with a little support 😂 - just looking for comfort, support and nice definition under fitted clothes, pref without mahoosive straps that show under v necks etc.
what would you recommend? Thanks 🙏

When I don't want to wear an underwire I usually wear a Uniqlo bra-top camisole. The shape isn't quite as good as an underwired bra, but it's good for under sheer things as it's moulded and padded. It's very comfortable. Handy hint - step into it like a one piece swimsuit, it's much less of a struggle than over the head.

thanks for the tip! Will check them out

I have not worn a bra with underwire since I was a teenager and I am now 54. I am 36B similar to you. There are some gorgeous ones out there, but I do not live in UK, so would not help to send you links. Something like this is what I favour.

I love Molke , the original style .

Youmeandacupoftea · 10/06/2024 22:28

I like the Rosie Lounge ones from M&S. I’m the same size as you and they give good support and shape and are comfortable.

Took DD to TK Maxx over the weekend and most of theirs were bralettes and non-wired. Also she likes New Look ones which are good quality.

BuffaloCauliflower · 10/06/2024 22:31

I’m a Molke fan, but I’d also bet you any money you’re not a 34B. That’s actually a pretty unusual size measured properly. Plus if you were a 34B you wouldn’t need any support because they’d be too small to need any holding up.

Do give this calculator a go (for a starting size, there’s too many variation in bras for it to be exact)

I’ve worn non-wired for years now and mostly buy them from TK Maxx or M&S. TK Maxx tend to do more bralette style, but M&S is more like an actual bra shape. Not had my boobs measured since I was a teenager and I’ve just stopped breastfeeding, but I used to be a 34B and have always found non-wired bras to be supportive and obviously way more comfortable.

I can't stand underwire bras, I buy Molke bras now, they are so comfortable

Kiitos · 11/06/2024 06:45

The Uniqlo ones are great, comfy and supportive. But I’d hesitate to recommend them as they fall apart in the wash (I’m sure handwashing would be fine but just don’t have the time!)

Lovemycat2023 · 11/06/2024 09:09

I wear M&S t shirt bras which are lightly padded but no wire. A bit warm if it’s very hot (not that that’s happened recently!) but very comfortable and some choice of colours.

WeRateSquirrels · 11/06/2024 09:12

I like the Sloggi Zero Feel bralettes.

Poor Moi do some nice wireless ones. Not sure if they still ship to the UK. I ordered my last ones via an Ebay seller.

Buttons0522 · 25/01/2025 20:45

Look up Cleo lace non wired bra M&S. Just bought in all 3 colours. Super comfy and pretty too!

Maternity bras!

I second these. I bought my first a couple of weeks after having breast cancer surgery, when I had a wedding to go to and needed a proper bra to wear under my dress, rather the sports bras and crop tops I'd been wearing. You have to avoid underwires for a while after surgery, but that was four years ago and they have become my everyday bras and I hardly ever wear an underwire these days.

I really like the ultimate comfort bra from bravissimo, i sized down a bit (G to F). I also have one from snag which is pretty good but not quite as comfy.
