Royal Ascot help!

NC for this as I dont want to link to other posts.

I've been offered a ticket to Royal Ascot, Queen Anne Enclosure, and I'm in a tizz about the dress code!

It says chiffon is fine but sheer fabrics are not... what??

There is no minimum skirt length which is surprising- surely I can't wear a mini dress? Or can I?

'Novelty patterns and fabrics'- does that include eg floral print, leopard print etc?

Help!!

I’d go with what you’d wear to a posh wedding. So day dress. You’ll need a hat/fascinator. Nothing off the shoulder. Mini could be within rules but would look a bit odd I reckon.

its a fab day out, enjoy!

Floral print and leopard print is fine. I think with sheer they don't want transparent outfits like the Met Gala, so lined chiffon is fine. Agree with a pp that an outfit for a summer wedding is perfect.
With mini dresses- in the Royal Enclosure skirts should be just above the knee

Sorry posted too soon

Royal enc- just above the knee or longer
Queen Anne- more leeway, there's no minimum length but probably sensible to avoid micro minis.

Tip, wear comfortable shoes. If you have a pair of Chie or similar wear them. The amount of women I see (I go every year) with excruciating looks on their faces, carrying their shoes or in some cases throwing them in the bin and resorting to bare feet always amazes me.

Enjoy!!!
