Bold hair dye colour that will wash out in a couple of months

Does this exist? Dd wants to dye her hair something bright and bold (I’m thinking a blue or bright colour) over the summer holidays. I’m fine with this so long as it washes out before the next school term in September. I’ve googled but I’m a bit scared of buying her a hair dye and then finding out it doesn’t actually wash out. Any recommendations?

What colour is her hair naturally? Could she just dip dye it (the safer option) as a compromise?

Could you persuade her to do the ends of her hair instead of her whole head, so that she can get it properly bleached and coloured, then cut off the ends in September?

Her hair is mousey brown and it’s pretty short so she can’t just get the ends done and cut off at the end of the summer.

she’d be fine not doing it, I was just hoping there was an option that would last a few weeks. She’s used hair chalk but it takes ages and just comes out so easily.

Pink doesn't last long but possibly is too fleeting for you. Purple in my hair faded to blue andthe blue bits never washed out. Just to help you rule out some colours!

The only problem is when hair is dyed bright and bold colours it is usually bleached first. I don't think the bright directions or crazy colour would work on mousey brown hair.

That’s a shame. I’d there anything bold (might look a bit muted but would still show) that doesn’t involve permanent?

For darker hair try dark plum shades or midnight black/navy. Depending how mousy she is you might get away with some of the darker teals and purples.

Yeah sorry OP you aren't going to get a bright colour with mousey brown hair as a base, could you get here some bright hair extensions so she has a bit of colour?

For brands look for Directions or Crazy Color. I prefer Directions but Crazy Color is generally more available.

I’ll ask her and see what she thinks of extensions. Thank you for the advice and glad I checked before buying something random!
