If you are genuinely happy with your body size and shape, what’s your height weight & dress size?

If you genuinely feel happy with your body size & shape what’s your height weight & dress size? Do you think you look great, or have you just made peace with how you look?

I am 5”7

Weight 11 stone 6lbs

Normally wear a size 10/12 depending on brand. I fit into 8s in some shops (M&S I’m looking at you!) but that’s definitely vanity sizing!!

I have mixed feelings about my body & would like to lose a stone & tone up some areas.

I am fairly muscular as do work out. But my tummy is bigger than I would like and my bum (which was always my best feature until recently) has this weird sagging at the bottom so no longer looks good in shorts (skirts are better now).

More importantly, since being heavier (I used to 9 and a half stone at my lightest) I have developed a lot more niggles in my legs when running, which is limiting my running to twice per week and I feel a lot older than I did 5 years ago (I’m early 40s) and think being slightly heavier is contributing to this .

On the plus side, I do think I have a nice hourglass shape (just not from the side due to belly!)

Size 6

flamesdancing · 09/06/2024 16:52

I’m 5’7” and anything below 10 stone is ok for me. At that weight I can comfortably fit into a size 10.

At times I’m a bit lighter, down to around 9.5 stone, and I do prefer that but never manage to maintain it for very long.

Vicliz24 · 09/06/2024 16:55

5ft 6 around 10stone maybe just a bit under . 8/10 bottom 10/12 top huge shoulders and have boobs . Fairly athletic shape have run since school and still do . I'm quite muscular and would love to be less so but I'm very active so it's probably not going to happen. I'm 60 this year.

BurbageBrook · 09/06/2024 16:59

I'm happy with mine. I'm 5'7 and about 9 stone, I think (don't own scales so only check about every six months or so). Size 8 in some shops 10 in others.

doublec · 09/06/2024 17:52

Used to be an hourglass shape but now only have one breast, and in a few months times, will have no breasts which I guess will make me pear-shaped.

I liked my body pre-cancer, still like it now and will like it post second mastectomy. (The only bit I really struggled with was losing my hair which has thankfully started to regrow). Do miss my toned arms though. I must get back in the gym/weight lifting.

Only time I didn't really like my body was when I went through a premature menopause and gained almost 40 pounds in a matter of months. Lost it all now and am back to 53 kilos. Am 5ft 4 and a size 6.

OhcantthInkofaname · 09/06/2024 18:10

5'5". US size 4-6-8. 120 pounds - I think that is 8.5 stone.

Ugh. This thread makes me feel like a big fat lump. How do you all weigh so little?

Because the only people who will post those information are those who thin.
The others are much less likely to do so because they’ve been told many times they should be ashamed to be bigger than a size 10.

DullFanFiction · 09/06/2024 19:01

I’m 54yo and a size 22.

I don’t care about my weight and how I look like because I have much more serious issues to content with - like my health.

Id be happy with a functioning body at any size. What size or weight you are means nothing when your body stops functioning as it should.

So instead of running after some impossible perfection (there is no way you have a tummy that is an issue with a size 10), enjoy your healthy body. Enjoy what you can do with it. And take care if it.
Believe me it’s 100x more important than wha5 is basically vanity.

I’m definitely not posting, and I’m depressed after reading this thread. I dream of being 10 stone! Most women are far from a size 10 around here , so I assume that there is a county in the U.K. full of slim people who think they have flabby bellies when they don’t!

lindyloo57 · 09/06/2024 19:11

5ft2 9 stones i wear 10/12 I'm 63, up to age 50 i was 8 .5 stone and size 10 , I don't mind being this weight but don't want to be any bigger, it's just how I feel ,

champagneplanet · 09/06/2024 19:19

I'm also 5ft 7in, weigh 11st 6oz. Usually a 14 but sometimes can squeeze into a 12.

Would like to be 10 stone, I lost a lot of weight due to illness and went too thin but thankfully my health is under control now and I have gone back to what I was pre illness. I'd like to tone my thighs and tummy, it doesn't keep me awake at night but I know that if my willpower was a bit better I could probably lose the half a stone that's bugging me (and would probably get me back into my size 12 jeans comfortably).

I feel that life is too short to not enjoy yourself but I do appreciate the balance between enjoying what you like and staying active and healthy.

bbq007 · 09/06/2024 19:20

5.8 10 stone, 10-12 on top and 10 on bum.
Happy enough with figure, it's not perfect but I don't wince when I look in the mirror!
I got into fitness a couple of years ago and being/feeling strong and toned makes mind and body feel great.

AstonMartha · 09/06/2024 19:22

5”2, around 8.5 stone. Size 8-10. Not unhappy but I would quite like to not have a little pot belly. I work out a lot, eat well and still I have a tummy. My bottom is nice!

I don’t hid my body behind what’s the point. I have the confidence to wear whatever I want but wish that I had appreciated my younger body more. My confidence increased as my tummy did!

lipglossandmascara · 09/06/2024 19:24

Well right now I'm pregnant but when I was my most happiest/ confident, I was....

5"7
9 stone
Dress size 8-10

I think the answer is in the thread title.
In fact I think it would be a rare and very self confident individual who was genuinely happy with their size and shape and not want to change anything.

It might sound shallow but how happy I am with how I look probably increased in direct proportion to losing weight.
Its not so much an appearance thing as a health and self confidence thing though.

mistymirror · 09/06/2024 19:26

It's amazing how lots of people here are similar height and weight but totally different clothes sizes! So interesting...
I am 5'7.3 and weigh 10.9 stone I was 11.6 at the beginning of the year and am much happier now I've lost a few pound. Ideally I would like to be 10.4ish. I wear size 10/12.
Before I had my children I was 9.10 don't think I will ever get there again though!

I think you're right, it isn't until you lose your health that you realise just how lucky you were! I will remind myself of this next time I'm in the mirror giving myself a hard time.
Hope you are ok Flowers

Justkeepswiimming · 09/06/2024 19:35

I'm 5'7. Recently gone from 66kg to 60kg. Fit into a size 8, probably a generous 6, but I have too much boob usually. I could probably do with toning my arms, but I do lots of walking, so otherwise generally fit. I lost weight to challenge myself to get back to pre-pregnancy weight (daughter is 6 🤣) just to see if I could sort of thing, but not really dieted, just cut some (definitely not all) of the crap out.

Am I happy with my size? Yes. Do I love my overall appearance. Probably no. I've been slim all my life, so I suppose I sometimes see my looks as being intrinsically tied up with my body. I'm pretty plain, but have a great hourglass size 8 figure. It's all silly really but hey ho.

Babbahabba · 09/06/2024 20:18

My best weight is about 10st 7 at 5'5. I'm a size 10/12. I'm about a stone heavier at the moment and more a size 12/14. Trying to get back down there. I'm not very toned but don't have a back figure for my mid 40s- hour glass ish with some tummy tub.

Ifyoucouldreadmymindlove · 10/06/2024 07:09

5’5”, 51kg, size 6:8.

After two babies, I’m proud of my body. I love exercise and run and lift weights and do MMA. I eat well, but I don’t live on a limited diet, I indulge myself plenty.

RosesAndHellebores · 10/06/2024 07:19

5'6", 11st, 8lb - size 14, 63.
I'm perfectly happy, except for my tum, albeit 8lb still in the overweight BMI category.

Reasonably well proportioned but quite big boned.

Occasionally think about a tummy tuck!

I am 5’ 6” and I’m a size 10 to 12. I’m around 9. Stone 10. I have made peace that this is the size/figure that I will have at my age with an active lifestyle that still needs rest, and eats when I’m hungry. Listening to my hunger cues and exercising when my body wants to and this weight/size is where my body naturally maintains.

xxSideshowAuntSallyxx · 10/06/2024 07:27

5ft6 size 16 top, 14 bottom. I weight train in the gym 4 times a week (I would be quite toned if if I was my ideal weight) so weight isn't a good gauge.

I do carry my weight on my belly and boobs though and do need to lose a stone or two to be truly happy but I like food and have always had big boobs.
