Best Nail Product Post-Gels?

2AND2GC · 08/06/2024 18:09

I'm planning on taking a break from getting BIAB nails.

What is the best product to use to put a thick layer on my (rubbish at the best of times - they'll be like flaky paper once the gel comes off) nails to strengthen and protect them?

I've previously tried:
Nail Magic (really stung!)
Opi Nail Envy
Nails Inc Gel Rehab
^ none of which did anything

Thanks

You need a good nail oil or Mavala nailactan cream. I have just started using Manicurist Active Glow and it's made my nails look normal after gels.

I am useless with nails but my DD uses Nails Inc oil and Beekman 1802 cuticle balm
Cotton gloves at night after she's applied cream.

Are you looking for a protective varnish type of product ?

Thanks for these replies.

I've got a good cuticle oil (Solar Oil).

I've seen the Manucurist Active range - looks interesting!

Thanks again for your advice.

Nails Inc used to be my go-to but it’s changed for the worse! Friend recommended Chanel Camellia base coat, but ouch, the price!

I had my BIAB taken off in January and have used Orly Nailtrition since then.
They are only now back to be strong and healthy. I used it every day as instructed and had manicure every couple of weeks.
I think what ever you use it takes time for your nail to recover.

Without a doubt Essie “as good as new” nail surface improver, “treat love colour” and Plantinim top coat are a game changer

Thanks everyone - I'll check these recommendations out.

Much appreciated Flowers
