Can you buy glasses frames online and take them into your normal optician to have lenses put in?

My prescription has changed and I hate my current frames, but I also hate all the others in the shop. I'm wary of using online sites because my prescription is strong and I don't want to get it wrong. And I have no idea how the sites work, how do you try frames on?

They can send you trial pairs:

Use your existing frames there’s 3 numbers on the arm

longer one is the arm length
small one is nose bridge
middle is diagonal of lenses

Theres only so may lens lengths and shapes - the rest is design.

You can send them your prescription via email so you don’t get it wrong.
