Nike Air Force 1?

Looking for new trainers for my holiday.
Would usually wear Converse or Vans with jeans/shorts/sundresses etc. Saw Nike Air Force 1s in a store the other day (the plain white ones) and thought they looked nice, but I've no idea really. Will they look OK, or am I barking up the wrong tree entirely?

I have white air force ones and I’m not even a massive trainer fan. Wore them on holiday last year and they were ridiculously comfy!

Is that you Rishi? 😀

They are fine, but just be aware they were everywhere in summer 2022/into 2023. I still wear mine, but I wouldn't buy a new pair now because the trends have moved on from chunky white trainers.

I wore Vans for years and years and found them getting less padded/comfy over time... now swapped to AF1s and they are SO comfy, I love them! Really recommend.

AF1s are permanently on trend in some cultures (mine) and depending on your style.

They are comfy.

Nike Court and Gamma are similar styles and also comfortable.

My Vans have given me terrible blisters, hence me looking for new trainers. Glad to hear that AF1s are comfy!

What would you wear instead?

I like my AF1s but they’re the only trainers I possess that make my feet stink.

Probably Jordans or Dunks, e.g. these. You might actually prefer them if you're into more skater-type shoes. The black and white Dunk Lows were also ubiquitous recently (I still wear them though as I love them) so would probably avoid them new. Coloured trainers are more current, Adidas Sambas and Gazelles in bright colours have been everywhere (I'm not a fan).

SpindleyDindley · 05/06/2024 22:40

If you think they look nice then that is all that matters. I think they generally look fine apart from the 'Panda' colours.

CallMeBettyBoop · 06/06/2024 01:30

I love Sambas and Gazelles but they just don't look right on me, sadly. Am not too fussed about not being right up to date - my 'look' (such as it is) is more classic really. I've just bitten the bullet and ordered the AF1s from Office :)

I loved mine - super comfy and go with everything but think that they’ve definitely had their day. More commonly seen on 14/15 year olds now!
