Suggest a perfume I might like ..

I've been wearing Daisy Love by Marc Jacobs and Barbour for women, but would like something that smells a bit more .. expensive, without actually being too expensive!

I like both of the above, although the Barbour is a bit too violetty maybe. I like sweet but not too sweet, definitely not sour, not too floral, not musky. I quite like Si but it's slightly too sweet. I don't want anything too heavy. I don't like Poison, or Issy, or Alien. Sorry for being so picky. Every time I try new perfumes my nose gets overwhelmed after a couple and I give up, so thought I'd ask for recommendations here. Thank you in advance!

How about Gucci Flora?

Thunderpants88 · 05/06/2024 04:05

Tocca Collette been wearing it for years and get compliments all the time. It lasts far longer than any other perfume I have ever worn so need to use a lot less. Also spray it on clothes and hair not on skin and it lasts longer too.

order a sample on eBay / vinted but it is a gorgeous scent.

I like Chloe, to me it’s quite floral but light. And the bottle is beautiful

Good idea to order a sample on eBay, might do that for a few!

Eden perfumes sell dupes of designer perfumes. They do a samples box of 5. They also have a good search bar where you can search for terms like "floral" "fruity" "sandalwood" etc and it'll suggest different fragrances. You could get samples of some of the suggestions you get one here so you're not wasting money on a whole bottle that you may not like.

Current favourites have mostly come from Gallivant, an independent London brand that doesn't genderise scents as M/F but names them after cities. Get a sample set, and try one per day. They are very different from one another but most people seem to like several.

Recent favourites for me are Lancome's "La Vie est Belle" and Sarah Jessica Parker's "Lovely". The former is quite expensive, the latter pleasantly less so.
