ME+EM?

Just bought some clothes from this company but before I make a complete prat of myself in public. How do you say it?

in my head I’ve always thought of it as Me and Em (as in me and my mate Emily). Is that right?

Hopefully Me&Em will see this thread though...

Fatlittlefruits · 05/06/2024 18:32

Ha - came on this thread to flag the issues with Marylebone store.

Actually popped in again with a friend 2 weeks ago when we were walking past and she said "shall we go in to see if they are all still as rude as ever?"

Yes, they are. We scuttled out without buying anything as per usual. Have bought online and there is some nice stuff.

I think Pablova is just reposting a quote from an interview with the founder, she's not actually Clare Hornby!

Ooops 🤭
Why would anyone do that though?! 😆

Anyway. If Me+Em do see this thread I’d really like to know why they have to open almost every new shop in London. Every. Bloody. Time. Oh, and New York now of course. Would be nice if they could spread the love around the rest of the country.

Hahaha yes it was a quote from Claire the founder, the only reason I did not link to the quote was because it was from the daily mail.

I am a huge fan but have found the prices are very steep compared to a few years ago.

I've just looked at their website - why on earth are all the inside leg measurements exactly the same no matter which size trouser you look at? All 82cms long which would drown me , shame as they look lovely

DGPP · 05/06/2024 21:07

I love Me+Em but they are getting so pricey, won’t be long before they lose me. Agree re: Marylebone

FakeMiddleton · 05/06/2024 21:19

Am I the only one kinda of desperate to go to Marylebone tomorrow to see just how bad it is? Grin

Me too! 😂

Think Me and Em too. Never bought anything in protest at the super skinny models. I don’t think it’s healthy to be promoting stick thin women. Really- compared to other companies they are stuck in the 90s with this.

redfacebigdisgrace · 05/06/2024 23:01

Edinburgh staff are wonderful!

Justfivemoreminutesplease · 05/06/2024 23:05

Interesting but I’ve noticed in their last two (maybe three) monthly catalogues they’ve had a much larger sized woman also wearing the dresses as well as someone on the skinnier side.
And I’m laughing as I’m sure I went into the Marylebone store last summer - there were ladies talking amongst themselves at the till but I’m sure someone came over to me offering help!
I’m actually partly glad that the nearest one to me is Manchester; I’d really be broke if it was just a matter of easily popping in…..

ginislife · 05/06/2024 23:13

There's a bright green elasticated ruched jump suit that keeps popping up on my FB feed that I absolutely love - but I'm not it will look the same on my size 16 pot belly as it does on the model - and its £150 !!

Malbecmoron · 06/06/2024 00:40

I bought my very untraditional wedding outfit from Me&Em. Pink suit, slight orange pinstripe. Felt like a million dollars.

donttellthem · 06/06/2024 07:25

I'm wearing the statement orangey-red dress from last year to a wedding this weekend - it feels so special with a pair of gold platforms. The staff in the Belgravia shop where I bought the dress were lovely - but I've never felt comfortable in the Marylebone shop. I'm looking at their green cheesecloth dress - a bit spendy for me, but I know I'll wear it a lot.

sunshinechaser · 06/06/2024 07:50

I bloody love Me and Em! I find as I get older I buy less clothes but they are more expensive. I was in the Marylebone store about a month ago and found the staff really nice. One member of staff chatted away to me and was lovely. The Rixo shop meanwhile-they were not nice!

Chch24 · 08/06/2024 20:46

I love me+em but i find them too expensive now :/ also re marylebone, I’m shocked with the comments, the ladies there are always lovely, helpful even when the shop is extremely busy (which is always from my understanding as i pass by weekly on my way to the doctors).

AesopsMables · 09/06/2024 14:54

Big Me&Em fan here. The quality on the majority of the clothes I have from there are excellent.

I just wish they offered more selection for Petite (I'm 5'3") The trousers are fine as I can get a tailor to shorten. The flouncy dresses and skirts though would be ruined if altered.

Never been in a store as buy all online .
I did have an unpleasant experience with their social media manager though approx 4 months ago. I mentioned on an instagram post that I would love a particular item in Petite. It was a very polite mention with prayer hands. Within a couple of hours they removed my comment which I found offensive given the amount I spend with there 😡

MyRamone · 09/06/2024 17:50

Their clothes all seem to be made for straight up & down women - I'm an 8-10 but everything I try on from them makes me look like a block. The quality is good though.

I looked at the website yesterday and lots of the dresses also have pictures of a model in size 16 or 14z
