If you could choose ONLY ONE makeup brand, which would it be?

Mine would be ELF. Affordable, cruelty free and contains near exact dupes of higher end products. Could do a full face with 3-4 products.

Bobbi Brown. Great quality across the brand, and there's a reason so many BB make up artists are used by the royals and celebs!

FOHM · 03/06/2024 20:05

Jones Road.

Gcsunnyside23 · 03/06/2024 20:08

BPerfect, found this brand earlier this year and now all my make up and fake ran comes from here

suki1964 · 03/06/2024 20:15

Ok so I am budget and supermarket range, no big stores near me and Im settling on Laura Geller

Foundation really doesnt settle in my lines, and the blushers/highlighters/bronzers are just pure lush

I still need to find my holy grail of mascara

Stibble · 03/06/2024 20:18

I try and buy more natural, mineral, ethical products these days, but i admit i always come back to maybelline as a safe bet for basics. Their foundations have just worked for me since i was a teenager, and still look better than anything else I’ve tried. And eyeliners, lipsticks etc always seem to be reliable quality and wear for a reasonable price.

beefmassaman · 03/06/2024 20:19

Bobbi Brown or Nars for me.

ButterCrackers · 03/06/2024 20:19

Boots No.7

ProvincialLady2024 · 03/06/2024 20:21

Hourglass

Or Chanel

May I hijack this thread to ask if you wise beauty experts can recommend a brand that is particularly good for older skin (dry and a bit wrinkly)?

I think for older skin (like mine) less is more. I use Erborian CC cream which is lovely, and a light setting powder. The Hourglass one works well for me and doesn't settle in lines. After that I use what I always used. The base is the only thing that matters. A good primer is important too!

Chypre · 03/06/2024 20:24

I'm already down to one, one and only - Beauty Pie. Literally only my deodorant and toothpaste are not BP, as they don't make them.

TeenLifeMum · 03/06/2024 20:24

Boots No7 - mostly because I’m not allergic to it.

Quacking4it · 03/06/2024 20:26

I've started using ednorian CC cream and it's fab.and Laura mercier blurpowder. Usually I use jane iredale. I've never heard of some of these brands so off to explore. I try and use vegan, cruelty free etc.

Jones Road

Jones Road.

familyissues12345 · 03/06/2024 20:34

Another vote for ELF! I don't wear make up every day, if I do it's likely just to be a bit of mascara, so I just can't justify spending loads on stuff that will start smelling funky before I've finished it!

Bareminerals, No7, Charlotte Tilbury, IT Cosmetics and Sculpted by Aimee are some I’ve heard work well on dry, mature skin ❤️❤️❤️

Another vote for Boots No. 7 - I rarely buy a ‘premium’ piece of make up and see any real difference for the price with the one exception of Lancôme mascara.

faustina · 03/06/2024 20:38

Jones Road but also Glossier - I wear very little makeup but those two brands are essential to me (and very luckily I've found them both at TKMaxx recently)

faustina · 03/06/2024 20:40

@Synergies - try Jones Road (you can buy little testers on Ebay so no big outlay)

honeyfox · 03/06/2024 20:41

That's a really difficult one. I am obsessed with my EL Double Wear though so I'd have to stick with Estee Lauder. Sigh.

Firkinhavinalaugh · 03/06/2024 20:42

Chantecaille, without a doubt and all the money in the world.

laura Mercier second

rare beauty

but I don’t really wear it :) -

ELF, mainly for ethics and price but its a nice range as well.

Although Primark are winning me over with some of their stuff at the moment!

Primark make up is excellent!

Zucchero · 03/06/2024 21:17

Estée Lauder because I love their lipsticks and eyeshadows. I'd struggle giving up some of my other non-EL favourite products though.

Circleinthesand81 · 03/06/2024 21:19

I mostly use bareminerals or benefit. Never heard of Jones Road - need to check that out now.

I was going to say Lancome because of Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara which I wouldn't be without. And their lipstick, Rose Nu.

This has made me realise what a mish mash I wear:

Estee Double Wear (and skincare)
Clinique Chubby Stick and Take Off the Day.

No 7 highlighter and pressed powder, oh and eye brow pencil.
