Please help with smart casual work tops

I hate clothes shopping so much so that I've not bought any new clothes for years.

Please help me find some casual work tops. I like boho but not floral. I need some short sleeve t shirts or blouses. I'd be wearing them with black or navy leggings or black high waisted mum jeans.

I'm size 12 with broad shoulders and a bit of a tum so no skin tight fitting. I've got dark brown hair and naturaly slightly tanned skin.

Thank you

Oh thank you! I like the second one, I'll get that! The rest are a bit too formal for what I'm going for. I love the last one but I'd wear that as a going out top.

You've picked some great colours!...they've given me something to work with.

I've got loads like this from White Stuff... https://www.whitestuff.com/p/4070/marta-tiered-tunic/KHAKI_GRN. They wash well, and their cropped jeggings come in a range of colours to match.

@LizzieBennett73 that's a nice shape. I'm not keen on the print so will check out there other items. I hadn't thought of white stuff. Thanks

@Sobekneferu thankyou I might nick some of those ideas too.

Are you going in to an office/workplace or working from home?

GeckoFeet · 05/06/2024 09:26

@BranchGold both but I'm self employed. I don't need to be smart smart or formal. I'm not going to wear gym leggings and t-shirts or ripped jeans. But I want to wear nice tops with nice leggings. Or shirts and hight waisted dark jeans. Smart casual I guess.

Hi, I have a same problem and i found loads of nice, comfy (not tight fitting) work clothes on JD Williams. I used a JD Williams discount code https://www.lovediscountvouchers.co.uk/jd-williams for money off too as I am budgeting at the moment. Hope this helps you and anyone else needing any.

Love this one. What would you wear it with? I always struggle with more relaxed silhouette tops, never know how to style them.

I just got some Uniqlo linen t-shirts and they're spot on - slightly curved hem, what I think is the perfect neckline (they tend to go too low on cheap t-shirts, and I think the higher neck looks that little bit smarter).

It's a bit scary after the first wash when they look like they've shrunk a size, but body warmth or ironing if you must sorts that back out.

M&S have some lovely linen shirts for the summer.

Sezanne is always good for smart casual and quite boho.

Winser do really nice silk t-shirts which are a touch smarter with jeans than a basic cotton one and can be dressed up if needed.

Roman have got 25 % off tops at the mo, and do lots of tunics and long line tops that would be good with leggings.
