Eyelashes/extensions for holiday?

I'm 47, very low maintenance beauty-wise, but am curious about having eyelash extensions for a holiday in France in summer (pool/beach etc) instead of just using Rimmel waterproof mascara which is rubbish, each day. Mascara is the make up I wear without fail daily.

I have no clue what to ask for at a beauticians. Does anyone have any advice? I don't want them to look obvious, just like I'm wearing mascara, so don't have to bother.

Is an expensive waterproof mascara better?

Anyone?

You can't really get them wet, so not ideal for a pool and beach holiday.
Def stick to waterproof mascara and/or get them tinted beforehand.

Oh, I thought I read a thread on here about looking 'groomed' on holiday and someone said they would survive pool swimsuit. Maybe not then!

You would ask for classic lash extensions, if you ask for a natural look they will be able to do this for you.
You need to keep them dry for 24 hours after application and then it's fine to get them wet, also would need a makeup remover that is not oil based or the glue will dissolve and they'll fall off. The beautician should give you all the aftercare info.

Thanks DDC.

How long do they stay on, please?

The only time in my life I've ever had conjunctivitis was the holiday I had extensions on - wasn't sure if it was the glue in the heat or something but I've never bothered again on holiday.

Following as I was pondering the same but love to swim, so was hoping they would survive this.

Consider a lash lift - basically a perm on your lashes. Lashes are covered with a solution and then arranged onto a tiny rod (glued to your eyelid), then rod/solution taken off and a tint is applied. Lasts for 2 months.

They last about 2-3 weeks. You also need to be careful with using any oil based products such as suncream, as that can also weaken the glue.
If you are just wanting your lashes to look like you have mascara on, I'd say a better option would be for a lvl treatment, they tint and curl your natural lashes and it looks more natural and lasts up to 6 weeks and is easier to care for. There's no obvious lashes missing once they start falling out as with extensions, it just gradually fades over time.
