Collagen supplements

Seems at 54 I'm late starting collagen supplements so I'm looking for recommendations. My friends all take powders/drinks but I find them all unpalatable so I'm looking for a tablet instead.

I've read that to be effective I should be aiming for between 1000-4000mg of collagen but there seems to be two different types and I'm getting confused 🫤

Without spending hundreds what are the best capsules to take?

Tia

I take Ancient and Brave marine collagen. It is a powder and I understand that powders are more effective. I don't taste/smell anything at all.
Maine collagen and bovine collagen have different benefits. The latter is for ligaments and joint support, marine is used for skin and hair.

You’d have to take an awful lot of capsules to get enough. I also have Ancient and Brave and can’t taste it at all (and I’m really fussy).

Powder is best - you need quite a bit. I have 2 teaspoons in my coffee in the morning and can’t taste it. I use Willpowders by Davinia Taylor (I know she’s annoying but her products are good). It’s bovine but good quality. I tend to avoid marine as there’s less quality control in the sea so may be more microplastics in the collagen.

Thanks for the suggestions, is there a combined bovine and marine one? I think I need both 😂

No sadly I haven't found one!
But I did find it confusing at first that there were two different types of collagen for two different things!

The strongest one I could find is Vital Proteins. 20g a day. Has definitely helped with aches and pains. I'm 54 also. Been taking now for 16 months. Jennifer Anniston promotes this one.

Hi @Lavendersquare this one is a combined one and totally tasteless & odourless. It's collagen & protein together
