Did it leave a scar? I would prefer a scar tbh....

Does a plastic surgeon have to be privately done or could my gp refer me for a big ugly facial one?

TBH, the mole never bothered me (other than in childhood when it was a teasing opportunity). It was removed because it was an irregular shape. The scar isn't very noticable (it's actually about 1.5 inches) but I wouldn't want it on my face. OTOH, because it wasn't on my face, I guess less care was taken wrt scarring.

I would imagine a skin coloured scar is generally less noticeable than a brown mole though.

sister had a big hairy one removed from her forehead at 11, left no scar at all really now, she did have a scar for about 5 years but tbh that was preferable to the 5p sized monster on her forehead with inch long hairs... (not that i ever mentioned this to her, oh no...)

I had two removed. Both at the side of my head, so kept getting caught by combs and brushes.

I have very tiny white lines where they were. The GP did them, but minor surgery is a speciality of his and his reputation around this parts is ace. I would have asked for referral to dematologist or something otherwise.

Very glad I got them done and the only took about 2 minutes each. No pain, just a little tugging feeling.

Mmmm. I have been thinking about this too, but also worried about scarring. Little one on chin, but to be honest its not the mole that bothers me because its quite pale, its the witchy hairs that grow out of it. Does anyone know if you can get the hairs permanently zapped/removed without removing the whole mole? I heard it is dangerous to have electrolysis on a mole, but that might be rubbish.

and is it really true that you shouldn't pluck hairs from a mole? Anyone know why? it's the sprouting that bothers me too
