Laser hair removal - first time

I'm thinking of having laser hair removal, bikini line/ upper thigh area and underarm, which I have always felt conscious of. Could do lower legs too but not in a rush.

I have 2 companies to choose between. One has been used and recommended by a relative with similar colouring and hair to me (naturally pale with darker hair) but they used the same brand in another location.

I wanted to ask if they are both using the 'right' type of laser (eg not IPL) as I have absolutely no knowledge of this area, and if one company looks better than the other. Especially considering the price difference. Does the skill level of practitioners make a difference?

Would be very grateful for some knowledgable advice.

I had my face and underarms done at Skn Clinics. Had a good experience. It was the proper laser, not IPL

I go to Therapie - who use a Cynosure Elite iQ, Alexandrite and Nd:YAG (basically, two wavelengths to zap as many hairs as possible.)

I am very pleased, just had my third session and already only have to shave maybe 1x a fortnight? The hair is already v slow to return. I am super white with dark hair though, the ideal combo for laser.

Only negative is they do try to upsell you a lot. I bought 6x sessions and they keep telling me I'll need at least 10. I won't need 10 - I've read a lot of the actual papers (I'm a scientist in my real life) and most patients don't need more than 5 sessions. And they try to sell you their aftercare all the time, which is annoying because it's just basically body wash and moisturiser. I just ignore it and am happy with my results so far (face, underarms, legs, bikini).

Can I ask if you have much hair growing anymore?
