Bras with shorter cups

I need help! I desperately need new bras. I've bought and returned lots of them because every one I buy, the cups are too tall, for want of a better word - the top point of the cup comes up too high, either cuts into my armpit or is simultaneously empty at the top of the cup but squashing me into quad boob at the bottom (so I can't go down a cup size). I think I must just have strangely short boobs.

I have one perfectly cut one from M&S which is a balcony one, but it's getting old and becoming loose around the back. I have ordered a new one supposedly in the same shape and size but the cup is at least an inch taller than my old one!

Where can I get a comfy but nice bra with a lower point cup? Most of my bras that fit are 34E. Don't mind if it's wired or non wired as long as it gives a bit of lift/shape, prefer padded or moulded (not that I understand the difference between them) rather than unpadded. There is nowhere locally that does bra fitting besides M&S.

The Rosie balconette ones from M&S work best for me. Was it a Rosie one you tried?

Frenchchutney · 26/05/2024 09:06

I was going to say try balconette. I also have exactly this problem and can’t wear full cup bras! I’m a 30G as well so well endowed.

unfortunately having tried so many bras the only bra that fits me is super expensive as it’s by Prima donna ( it’s the Sophora)

I'm much the same. Balconette is your friend. Personally, I wouldn't buy bras from M&S - its not their core skill set.

Bravissimo is a good place to go for larger boobs. Different brands (as well as styles) have different levels of support, sizing and give so it can be a bit trial and error. I find Freya can be good for cup shape But they come up small in the back.

Rocknrollstar · 26/05/2024 09:38

Try speaking to Bravissimo - they are very good at offering advice over the phone and will accept returns

Orangello · 26/05/2024 09:48

I'd try half cup, they are evel lower than balconettes. Fantasie and Freya both have some good ones.

I've tried several balconette/balcony ones from M&S but not the Rosie ones because they were so frilly I thought they'd show through clothes

these are the ones that work for me, I have been wearing them for many years, the only ones I’ve found that don’t cut in. There is lace on the top of this one but I have never found it to be a problem under clothes.

Good luck, finding the perfect bra is like looking for the holy grail 😆

I get it OP I have the same issue. A c shaped wire is very uncomfortable.
I find a wire that is basically meeting in the middle is more comfortable. It's all about how close together your breasts are.
Plunge style bras have a shorter centre gore. I wear non wired now as I find all wires awfully uncomfortable.

TwoShades1 · 27/05/2024 11:39

Do a search for half cup bras online and see if you think they might suit you. My boobs are quite high so I find on some bras the place where the cup meets the strap is nearly up on my bloody shoulder!

I also have this problem. I have long legs but a short upper body so it's an issue!
I'm 34H so also on the larger side. I have the Millie from bravissimo. They are lovely and very comfortable. I can highly recommend them. Sometimes I have to go down to a 34GG, depends on the style.
