I was watching the boxing in Saudi Arabia at the weekend and even noticed some of the male promoters have had it done while there.

Olive oil?! I think she looks better in the before photo. Very naturally pretty. The other photo looks like she’s just finished a workout.

Wizardcalledoz · 23/05/2024 16:28

I was going to say she just looks sweaty to me...other than sweaty/oily looking skin, I dont see a difference?

BrassOlive · 23/05/2024 16:29

Profhilo - basically hyaluronic acid injected under the skin

PlainChipsandIpads · 23/05/2024 16:30

My face looks shiny like this when I’ve just washed it, let it air dry and then not applied moisturiser immediately. It’s basically dry, tight and shiny.

Profhilo doesn’t leave your face shiny.

is it the shiny look your are asking about @JessieZoo ? A Hydrafacial gives that shiny glass look for an hour or so post treatment.

Where did the before and after pics come from? Did the article / advert or whatever showing the before and after pics not detail what the treatment was ?

KateMiskin · 23/05/2024 16:43

You could try slicking coconut oil on your face. Same sweaty effect for cheap.

WeRateSquirrels · 23/05/2024 16:43

I used to look like that after an old school facial with lots of oils. It was not seen as desirable. I do think this obsession with 'glow' has gone a bit far now.

It’s an oxygen facial, the photos you linked are here

Imagine paying someone to blow air into your face with a fecking empty airbrush. Some people really do have more money than sense.

My face looks like the second photo naturally (i.e. greasy)

Me too. Since when did a greasy face become a desirable look?!? 😂😂😂

bryceQ · 23/05/2024 17:32

Would this not just happen if you layered serum, moisturiser and facial oil??

Brightandbubly · 23/05/2024 17:42

Vaseline?

I wonder if I blasted my face with the hair dryer for 5 mins would I look like this - and would I want to 🤔

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 23/05/2024 17:58

Is it clingfilm?

It's awful, I don't want to glow, I am a menopausal woman, I want to do the complete opposite!

OP,she's smiling and has oil on her face.

I know, I wish this had been the fashion when I was a teenager!

Worth a go! Just make sure you slather your face with oil first, then I think you'll probably achieve "the look".

Sort of like laminating yourself.

Just make sure the wind doesn't blow your hair into your face otherwise it'll all stick. And I'm sure that's not the 'aesthetic' anyone's going for! Though I'm an old fuddy duddy now and maybe it is....

🤣

This!!

Tight, tight, cling film.

WayOutOfLine · 24/05/2024 12:41

I had a relative who did this! I think it was a peel plus some other treatments, and their face looked like a weird shiny waxwork. It didn't look younger, it looked odd. I honestly wouldn't aspire to this look, although Asian beauty influencers do go on about 'glass skin', I think you have to think about whether it would look good on you personally and not in general.
