Correct length for cargo trousers?

I bought these today, I’m really pleased with them. When i wear them, they sit at about the same length as they do on the model (although sadly I don’t look like the model!)

Although I had thought they should be really long, practically on the ground, remember when boot cut jeans first came out? Or am I just hopelessly out of touch and they should indeed be the length as shown in the photo? Whe I tried the longer length, it just looked and felt like there was too much material.

On the photo from behind, they are practically on the ground?

RitzyMcFee · 22/05/2024 17:15

I've got two teenage girls and both of them have absolutely enormous trousers that touch the ground.

Yes they would be perfect

Any longer the hems will let holes in speaks from experience the first time around

mdinbc · 22/05/2024 17:58

I will stand with my shoes on, and the hem at the back should just be 1/2" from the ground. You don't want them dragging, getting frayed or wet.
If need be, bring them to the tailors, but not before washing in case they shrink a bit.

Also, If you look at the photo of the grey ones, the length is just right. If you look at the length of the 'stone' ones, they look a bit short for the model.

Thanks everyone, I think I'll take my lead from the model in the picture!
