Foundation recommendations

I used to use the boots number 7 beautifully matte mousse and got on really well with it.
Couldn't find it in boots last time I went in so I bought number 7 protect & perfect intense advanced, on the ladies reccomendations. I asked for a light every day foundation.
It looks good on but feels a bit oily/claggy. I can live with that but I get really bad spots after I use it, which is very unlike me. I only wear it anything from twice a week to once a fortnight so not often!

So, any recommendations for light, every day, budget friendly (and ideally ethical/cruelty free) foundation please?

I recently got my makeup done and the artist used Charlotte Tilbury beautiful skin, it was so so light, but my skin looked amazing and it stayed put all day & great build able coverage.
First thing I did was order it when I got home!

Take it back, Boots are excellent in my experience at refunds/returns.

I’ve tried every foundation out there, it often feels like!

Currently using the Lancôme Teint Idole, it’s gorgeous - packed with skincare and very buildable in terms of coverage. Pricey but worth it, IMO.

I really like the Rare (Selena Gomez) foundation too - it’s much lighter coverage but gives lovely Demi Matt, more skin like, finish.

I wanted to love the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrushed Flawless but I find it just too drying (on my combo skin) and can’t get the application just right. Love many of her other products.

I continue to return to Estee Lauder double wear for full glam - great coverage, dries to lovely finish and other products layer over it really well.

It can be really expensive trying to find the best products so I’d recommend making a trip to nearest big department store and going to the various counters and asking for some samples before committing. Your local Boots might do the same if they have differently branded counters.

Good luck with the search! X

I would also ask for a refund, it's not suited to your skin and has caused irritation. I would ask for a sample to take away, they last about a week or more so you properly try before buying.
