Hooded eyes? Maybe?! Make up help

Hello all

Wonder if anyone can advise any tutorials (video or step by step) or any other tips for shadow. I'm 40-odd and never been great at eye make up, nor have I ever got the fuss because you can never really see eyeshadow on me and I've never totally understood why. I now think it might be because I've got hooded eyelids (is that what this is?)

I'm attaching a photo of my eyes and would appreciate any pointers and telling what kind of eyelids I have if they're not hooded!

YouTube have tonnes of tips. I stopped wearing eye makeup because of my eye bags, used to really have fun with it teens-late 20s but can't pull it off anymore, and I'm very tempted to get a brow lift.

I think yours are considered partially hooded as you do have some showing lids on your outer eyes.

No, it was just his hints on where to place shadow that I like and follow (much higher than feels right to begin with, but it does work). I also have one wonky eyelid, which doesn't help!

With hooded eyes I focus more on my eyelashes

I use eyelash curlers and lots of mascara

I also have green eyes and wear mid brown eyeshadow as my everyday colour and just in the lid part that covers my eyeball and in the socket area

Because my eyes are hooded, more hooded and deep set than yours I can get away with minimal eyeshadow because I don't really need it.

I can get away with just mascara
