Seasalt Scam

Pretty sure this is a scam - came up on my Insta adverts. The account is a musician and doesn't appear to be linked to Seasalt. Plus if you scroll down to the bottom of the page there are a couple of typos.

Yes, of course it’s a scam. They all are. If Seasalt were selling stuff off, it’d be on their regular website - so just go there instead of following a dodgy link. Generally - if it looks too god to be true, it must be!

People do fall for them, so raising awareness should help people avoid.

There was another thread earlier by someone who had fallen for it on Facebook.

People, please NEVER trust ads on social media that say big brands are selling stuff off at ridiculously low prices. It is always a scam. Go to the brand website (never click the link on the ad) if you want to be sure.

I agree, though with the volume of these things popping up every day, I’m amazed people haven’t cottoned on to it sooner.

I tried to report it on Facebook but it just said it wouldn't show it to me again 🤷‍♀️

I can honestly say that I’m great at avoiding scams like this but I too fell for it. Just rang my bank. I have to wait 30 days to raise a dispute. I’m not too worried about the money, it’s the credit card details I’m worried about but bank has assured me it will be fine. Never again.

@Miri13 phone them back and get them

A) to check of any recurring payments were set up
B) cancel your card and send you a new one

Also try requesting a refund from the 'company if there is an email address. I know it sounds unlikely but there was a thread on here recently where some people had fallen for a SpaceNK scam and many people did get a refund. I'll try and find the thread.
