Everyday dress for apple shape

Just following on from the thread the other day about summer dresses. I.am looking for some everyday dresses that I can wear that work for things like school run, going to playground etc. I think the main issue being that I am large chested 36GG and find it hard to find dresses that dont show too much cleavage whilst also being flattering as i am apple shaped so carry a lot of weight around my mid section. I am also 5 foot 5 and size 14ish and get lots of bloating from endometriosis. Would just love an everyday dress that is comfortable to wear whilst out and about with my 2 and 4 year old.

Anything with a belt/tie at the waist to cinch you in.

The Boden Eve dress is very flattering. Comes in double cloth cheesecloth material so don’t have to iron. Two lengths midi and short. Regular and petite. I have the midi in petite and it is one of the few midi dresses that suits me and doesn’t make me look dowdy. I haven’t tried the short one as not sure if it is just a bit too long for a short dress ( for me)x
It looks better on someone with the bust. The models all look a bit dowdy in it as none of them have much up top. So I think it looks better in real life.

I'm apple shaped and anything with a belt that cinches me in looks bloody awful. When you have big boobs and a tummy there isn't much space left in between. I look better when dresses are fairly straight up and down - like t-shirt dresses.

Oh no. Bless you. My coworker is the same. She needs something for a wedding at the beginning of June, but can't find one for love nor money. She's 4' 8" and a size 14. She too describes herself as an apple shape. She has tried everywhere. I told her to try a charity shop if all fails 🤔

Don't be afraid to try different cuts and styles until you find what suits you perfectly. What about this https://www.shein.co.uk/SHEIN-Frenchy-Plus-Size-Women-s-Fashionable-Solid-Color-V-Neck-Dress-With-Pleats-And-Lace-Hem-p-32084779.html?mallCode=1&imgRatio=3-4 they also have good deals

I am an apple but more Greggs sausage roll shaped - no waist what so ever - so love the options above

@user1471867483 this site shortens length of dress and sleeves and removes bent loops, of required . For free .
Your friend might find something , or even a tunic dress might work.

Yes, you can get Dunnes on line in GB , postage is the same for the whole of the U.K as Northern Ireland is part of the United kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Ok this isn’t about dresses, but I always find layers help to hide my tummy area. I think structured blazers (worn open, not buttoned) look good on pretty much everyone but particularly on apple body types as it give you a shape but not tight around the middle. You don’t actually need to be able to button them either, if you struggle to find ones that fully fit your bust size. Also rolling the sleeves up actually looks good (I think at least, gives a more casual look) if you find the sleeves are too long in certain sizes.

Blazers might be too hot in the height of summer but sleeveless cardigans/gilets (denim, cotton, knit) work too with sleeveless or short-sleeve dresses. So as an alternative, you could look for some layers to go with dresses your already own or to go with some of the new, lovely dresses suggested by PPs.

Also personally I think creating a waistline is key, so I’d always throw on a belt along with a top layer (blazer, cardigan etc) if my dress doesn’t have a defined waist already. I find loose-waisted dresses always make me look bigger rather than hiding my tummy. I have the belt sit high on my waist, as I can relate to bloating and discomfort issues.

I always wear cotton shirt dresses unbuttoned, with a scoop neck vest underneath. At a size 14 with an ibs tummy.
